- We have to Bring 13 of the biggest koi to the rescue to hold on to, untill we can deliver them to shaquille O'Neal, Greg the pond guy is giving shaq 13 huge koi and Ohio Fish Rescue is the delivery method, so there here at the rescue untill shaq returns to his new home and then we will deliver them to georgia and meet the big man himself :)

Man, I really wanna join what you guys doing, it is both nerve-provoking but fun at the same time because get to touch and look at these wonderful and massive fish plus Shaq wanting a big fish is so fitting lol
hey guys, my name is William I have for the past year been following you and what you are doing, it brought back my love for raising and keeping up fish and tanks. About 30 years ago my life was about as hectic and dangerous as any one could imagine. had all the money one could ask for, the means in which I made that money was what created so much stress. Myself and my wife had moved together when we were young and had a 30 gallon tank which we kept up. one evening I was sitting in the dark with only the light of the tank watching just watching those fish that night brought such a calm over me that it brought me to tears. that's when I first discovered an outlet for my stress. so I went brought me a 55 gal and some red devils. as time went and from dealing with the owner of the store I purchased two additional tanks 55 each and began raising aggressive fish, like jack Dempsey Oscars pikes and snake heads I used the 30 gal just for feeders. from that point I was gone purchased two 120 gal and made a deal to raise whatever fish he gave me to size and he'd come get them. before I knew it I had contract with an additional fish store, a French restaurant. I really had some beautiful tanks. You guys brought that memory back. I would like to perhaps come visit your place because I'm about a year from retiring and looking for something that'll occupy my time that's positive. I know in order to be successful in anything you'd have to possess a passion for it. I dream of one day having a 500, couple 800's and do this all over again. Keep it fishy My prayers go out to Tracey you guys are so inspiring

I love big koi! Someone gave me some that was raised in a tiny pond bathtub size that was huge! My favorite is the checkerboard back one. It would match nice with mine named Tank. Some koi must naturally grow huge no matter how big their pond.

Red on the tail looks like ammonia burn, keep changing the water in the tank by 2-5% every day, twice a day, until the red in the tail disappears. Advice from Rachel O'Leary on ammonia burn. Got to love that Lady for her knowledge and willingness to share with our community. The goal is to make sure the fish doesn't get exposed to more ammonia in the water. When finished add some more fresh beneficial bacteria to the filter with some liquid bacteria. That will bolster your filtration system (but I doubt it needs any, cuz that filter has been set up for a while now).

Gorgeous koi! For the water lily, they need a lot of direct sun to do well, preferably >8 hours a day. If the koi start digging up the roots, you may need to put down a layer of heavy gravel to keep them from slowly destroying the lilies.

These fish are beautiful! I saw some people were saying that butterfly koi aren’t quality fish and whatnot, but it honestly comes down to personal preference. So what if the Japanese think they are inferior? They are still gorgeous fish, it’s the same as saying a type of dog is superior to another dog and it’s higher quality, it just cannot be compared. It’s so opinionated it’s disgusting. The guy who is doing all this said that Shac himself was very happy with the selection of fish, and that’s what really matters in the end.✌️😊
I think because the Asian Arowana is considered such clout in the fish world. People have been straight up murdered in Arowana theft. But I agree with you. My favorite fish? The mighty, beautiful Betta!
For someone who just wants pond fish, as long as they are healthy they are fine!
It’s the same as someone who just wants a cat or a dog rather than a pedigree pet!
But for people who are “Koi Keepers” there are dozens of listed recognised patterns and good and bad versions of each!
As a volume of water, even well filtered can only support a certain number of fish, Koi Keepers tend to be selective choosing only fish that they desire and the best version that they can afford (as the price is related to the quality not the size) so that they don’t overstock their pond which would be detrimental to the fishes health!
You find as with most hobbies people will initially collect a wide variety of examples but as time passes and their appreciation grows some will specialise!
That’s all it is with Koi Keepers!
Because you can only keep a certain number of fish in a given volume of water you tend to be more selective as your collection grows!

To be fair, for koi keepers the majority are not very high grade koi, didn’t see even one I would put in my koi pond!
Agreed those koi are HUGE at least 0-50 years old if not older. possibly 75 years at the oldest.
Still not the biggest.....there was one in Japan....90lbs
