  • Over the years I was part of a Gala Chorus for Gala Evenings that were held at Buxton Opera House to raise money for Cancer Research. These performances also included our local Alison Barclay (RIP) Dancers. Also on board were celebrities from the soap opera World (Emmerdale & Coronation Street included) as well as professional singers, comedians and musicians. Hosts included North West news reporter Martin Henfield or comedian Norman Prince. Our director was Alan Wells, with producers Colin Sykes (reporter from North West Tonight) & Ann Gibbs.
These were our tributes to Steven Sondheim (where I got to perform a solo, 'Losing My Mind') and Noel Coward. Musical director was a gentleman from the BBC, who liked my audition! :)

This made me a little emotional. No one knew how accessible their performance would become and the way in which itd be archived.
