Radio 1 actually did play him in the radio yesterday with Animal Flow 🥰❣️ #Ren
I keep thinking I’m gonna start requesting stuff but he’s got such a potty mouth… and I don’t think he releases censored stuff does he?
@@LeeannG no, they did sensor out some of the bad language tho, great that it's getting played! 🎉 Many songs without the language tho 💙
Wow! Had no idea!! That's awesome!!
@@Lou-xq9br That's great !
That is incredible, best station in the UK!
If DJ Sh3vy a movie buff, he would def appreciate The Tale of Jenny and Screech.🦇
Yes, please!
True
Oh HELL YEAH! But bad news for him, BP's gonna put the kibosh on checking out any of Ren's music on his own!
@papacarl2002 what do you mean.
YES Please bring him back for The Tale of Jenny and Screech - And tell him he can't check out any Ren stuff till he comes back :)
All these months later I still like watching you introduce people to ren 😊
One thing to realise about the busking set is that is a regular street in Brighton. Its in a shopping center. That crowd gathered spontaneously.
I just realized by the 38 min mark I dont think you told the homie rens backstory! This guy is awesome , well all of your guests are to be honest they have all been very genuine and enjoyable but this dude is really cool he seems like he is really soaking in and trying to digest in real time what he is seeing, given his background as a dj it's interesting to see his perspective and his thought process in that real time
Great reaction ad always.
This quote about Van Gogh is also perfect for Ren. "he also knows that out of this exquisite pain comes beauty, if you give yourself that chance. That if you have depression, you may not be able to heal yourself, but you can tap into that darkness and create magnificence. If your soul has been scarred, if you have been broken deep inside by life, out of that sorrow and anguish can come achingly beautiful art."
You're killing me, Smalls! 2 Ren noobs in 1 day!!!❤❤❤❤
@Black Pegasus, I think Hi Ren is a great introduction, but it'd be nice to see more variety on the 2nd and 3rd. I love your first time reactions and would be really cool if the 3rd video was something you and the guest have not seen before.
Hunger should definetly get more exposure in the reactions imo!
Yeah, I think he misses out on some real gems to introduce people too. Humble, Dominoes, Ocean, Crucfiy Your Culture, Diazapam and on and on.
Losing It is great to show the fun side of him
I have to agree with you!
Agreed! I feel like Animal Flow doesn't get the respect it should!
The NYC subways have a busking scene. Bands like Moon Hooch and Too Many Zooz came out of that scene. I am sure there are more, but I am an old white guy from the burbs who apparently like his EDM/house music played by brass bands (Lucky Chops if you like brass disco hits - and frankly, if I had to listen to disco...).
And as always, thanks for the Monday Hi Ren reaction. I am going to miss them when they inevitably end.
Listen BP, I’m a forever fan of yours for just getting excited every episode to share your new favorite artist with your friends lol…you represent us all right now when it comes to Ren’s music! I’ve made my whole family watch it as I watch them and their reactions, they probably think I’m nuts 😂 I’ve spammed all my friends with his music and make them call me as soon as they’ve finished Hi Ren and The Tale of Jenny and Screech so we can talk about it AT LENGTH, it’s just getting out of hand haha
i love it when you do HI REN and then show them The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. its like night and day on there faces..🥰
my fav lineup as well, then 3rd genesis or the hunger....then 2nd round just the trilogy viewed & analyzed.
THIS would, IMO, be most amazing. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My son turned me onto you're channel. Love the reactions. Ren and The big push added to the playlist. Ren is genius❤
100% should have dropped Losing It on him. As a club DJ, that tune is a certified club banger!
Fish chips n mushy peas, the guacamole thing crack's me up everytime 😂😂😂
This guy needs to listen to 'Losing It'. That's definitely something that could be played in a club!
Man I love your evangelical approach to feeling the need to share this artistic experience. I have felt the same since seeing this for the first time three days ago. I want to walk up to people in the street and tell them to watch it. Been watching first time reactions to this ever since to get the buzz of seeing it for the first time again. It moves me every time. I loved the reaction of your wife and her friends watching it for the first time but can't find it to watch it again because your wife was physically moved by it and I want to watch it again man. It moves me every time I watch someone watch it for the first time. Love your channel. It's real passion. Thank-you 🇬🇧🙂
Even after watching Hi Ren about 100 times, just noticed another detail. When delivering his monologue, the lights are on his shoulders like the typical angel and devil are portrayed.
Ren❤❤❤❤
The best part of Monday.... The Ren Rollercoaster. Thanks for all the time and work that goes into your reactions. It's greatly appreciated.
Ren's most 90s jam is What You Want because it's got the most insane 90s vibe
Love the weekly Ren introductions.
No matter how many times I hear this song, that last paragraph brings a tear to my eye. It really hits home for me.
You and me both - the last paragraph is a killer man.
Ren is the master of switch ups🦇
So is Jim Carrey.. ;)
On thursday 20th THIS week a new ren song called "murderer" is coming out and the community organized an event for 1 pm mst in anticipation for the release of the song. Reactors can participate in our pre party RENathon, the very first edition of the "Day of Ren" if they like. To do that everybody can post a reaction to one song on that date just BEFORE the new song drops. He is also fast approaching 1 million subs. If we are lucky, it will be right on time. He now has 996k subs with getting 1000 subs a day on average the last few days, like clockwork.
Loved this one!! The movies he brought up were spot on 😆 Definitely a first to hear a Jim Carey similarly! The Vanilla Ice references were nice too!! I'm 40 so it all made complete sense!! 😅
It is kind of shocking that there are still some people who have never heard of Ren. Love this reaction series. Keep ‘em coming.
Love it so much! I love how you do Ren reactions .. the rollercoaster! I wish all my personalities had their own youtube accounts to follow you repeatedly! lol
A fellow DJ, nice. Love that he will play what he feels I'm the same I love dropping tracks that suprise peeps. 😂. Quick note on the scene in the UK, you are correct about the hip hop of the nineties getting mad support, artists are still making Boombap here just like yourself. What confused people though is GRIME has no roots at all in Hip Hop. It's an entirely different genre and culture born from drum and bass, reggae, garage house and Dubstep, which is why beats are so different, and the MCs came from being hype men like reggae toasting over tracks. Even here though people think because it's rapping it must be Hip Hop but Grime is not at all hip hop.
man, bench watching all your content has been a treat, thanks BlackP!
I never get tired of watching people discover ren
You should introduce DJs to Ren's Losing It, rapped over EDM beat.
Or power amazing beat of Rena own making 👍👌
Love these rides! You have such fun, talented and interesting friends, P. Thanks for sharing them with us :D
Yessss! Definitely Jim Carrey in Me Myself and Irene!!! When he transitions in to Hank!!!
Holland Michigan every Thursday has street performers night where we blocked the entire downtown off and there's different performers all over the place. It's amazing! You can drink and there's food places all over the place. All Summer Long
Hey BP, what a great reaction. You need to bring DJ Sh3vvy back. Show him Jenny & Screech & maybe Losing it. He sounds like a genuine geezer.
@BP I really loved your guest today for Hi Ren Monday. "Hey Mr. D. J. 🎶". Ive seen a Lot of reactions & he had some fresh perspective/insite i hadn't heard/thought of before. Thank you for what y'all do! Loved it! ❤️🔥 Shout out for the okra! 😂 In the late 80s, i grew up listening to Run DMC, Beastie Boys, the Fat Boys, 2 Live Crew, NWA, Snoop, Ice T, Ice Cube, New Edition, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Salt & Pepper, Cypress Hill, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Kid & Play, to name a few ❤️🔥
He is a WWE fan and likes hip hop, so he needs to see Illest of our Time.
I love how the lights flicker only when the darker version is talking. Amazing detail.
That was another solid reaction! Thanks for another great 1st impression BP. Looking forward to what you get to next! Can’t remember if you got to Ren x Chinchilla yet, but they collab really really well. You will also enjoy her music as a solo artist too. I recommend starting with “Fingers” (live) by HungerTv. Much love and have a great day !
2 newbie ren reactions in a day! You're spoiling us..happy Thursday! 😊
this man seems so cultured i love it lol knows so many cool movies and references
Great to meet another of your amazing and talented friends! Thanks again for all you do for Ren and other artists.
The COOLEST thing about “Hi Ren” (and there’s a lot to choose from), is the unresolved chord progression at the end of the song. It says more than any other note or lyric in the song. Then entire thing is a battle with himself, which we all face, and while the song may feel like it is resolved due to the upbeat tonality and tempo, that last chord progression never resolves. This represents that this is a cycle that we will continue to go through over and over, which is essentially what he says in the monologue. I read somewhere that Ren initially didn’t intend to have the monologue in the song but came up with it at the beach one day and decided to add it. Honestly, the monologue is meaningful, and I think it adds a lot of value to the song, but imagine it without it. The song would end on that unresolved chord progression and it would leave folks with the feeling of, “what’s next”. Either way, fantastic, and really really intelligent song writing.
If you ever bring him back (yes, please!) I'd be curious about his reaction to "Losing It" (doubt he's heard rap over popular EDM); "Illest of Our Time" or "Sick Boi;" and buying of Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. :D
I honestly love how you put together the different views and talents Ren has. This was a well put together reaction and a great tribute to Ren. The man is very talented and deserves recognition 👏 even tho he don't seek it. People need to see this and Ren too if he has troubles pushing through. We love you! And thank you Black Pegasus!
Thanks!
Thank you !!
Love Monday's ❤ since he does EDM. You should have done Losing It. But anywho, I truly enjoyed this... Thank you!
@Black Pegasus - I love watching new people see "Hi Ren," but I also love to see how much YOU love the song as you watch it again. LOVE IT.
Two suggestions for a new reaction series. Luca Stricagnolli and DJ Cummerbund. RUclips search them and pick anything that sounds familiar. It will blow your mind.
Awesome
Loved this introduction and all the new discussions. Every guest brings their own insights. It would be great to see DJ Sh3vy back.
The look from the “liar liar” reference is everything I felt 😂. Like of allll the things where people talk to themselves, I would’ve never picked that. But, I love it
Missed the premier looking forward to this.
There were places we used to do this in the USA. Many years ago I used to busk in Denver and San Francisco.
Dj Chevy? Had some nice insights. Bring him back please.👍🦇
yes!
and just a side note: no shade, buthe mentioned Logic in a list of 'white rappers '. Logic IS NOT white....his father is 100% black, so hes bi-racial, but 🤷🏻♀️ I'm just saying.
Good stuff! ❤️🔥REN❤️🔥
Loosing it is a club hit for sure
Love these guest reactions 💯 🔥
Man, I've basically just binged most of your Ren series back to back, and may I just tell you, even when its usually hi ten first, the guests reactions are always fresh and great but I've watched you evolve from really focusing on it to understand it to the point I'm at where you can help but almost rap certain bits with Ren because its also just a really enjoyable song
DJ Chevy making some dope observations and connections!!. I've listened to jazz for >40 years and it's always been true that American jazz musicians just don't get the love here that they do oversees - I'd never thought about Hip-Hop artists also experiencing that exasperating conundrum. And Hell Yeah! I'm am ALL IN for more DJ Chevy Reactions!!!
dang, the more I see you, the more it feels like family 😅
Tell him to play Ren - Power in the club!
So fun... love every reaction you do BP with every person that comes on!
real talk, thank you for turning up the video audio so I dont have to turn it up and down between video and talking
I've lived in the USA for almost 20 years, from the UK, until I watched your channel, I had no idea no one knew the term Busking! I've been saying it for years, & now realize no one knew what I was talking about!
Illest of our time could definitely be played in the club.
Your dude needs to hear what ya want, Power and living room poetry!
Still find it surprising you have not reacted to Life Is Funny yet, his flow and lyrics on that one are right up there
Thanks for spelling DJ Sh3vy’s name after about my 10th post😅🦇
Dude you just said Jedi mind tricks and finally solved the song ive been looking for for a minute now wow
He sounds exactly like me! Much respect 2 both of you! same age as you BP & been DJin in the nightclubs for 21 years and bboy for over 25 years & I do the same drive all the time and no music for me either. I miss lyricism! I've been playing Ren tracks at work for a little while now & i'm not mad about it lol
Missed opportunity for the Drum and Bass version of Genesis for the club 😁
Rob - still with that hypnotized look as he watches "Hi Ren" again. It just never gets old. DJ Chevy bringing some unique references: Jim Carrey in "Liar Liar", Jeff Dunham's puppets arguing, Joaquin Phoenix's "Joker", Ace Ventura's hair, Vanilla Ice's misleading fashion style. Good job, guys!
🔥BP🔥not my first choice for the Ren experience of Tom and him, but I think this time was spot on. Sheriff will be my choice for those new to Ren. All that being said, I think one of the best reactions you have put out!! I'd like to welcome him to the Reniverse, come in and enjoy all warrens in this rabbit hole! ✌🇨🇦
Love yah man, bring it on BP/
BP please hit some Ren and Chinchilla! Please! Please! Please!💕🦇
PRETTY PLEASE! I mean it’s would be pretty easy to do chalk outlines, busking and how to be me. Not as much rap but still 🔥🔥
Yeh- hi Ren, how to be me, the hunger(short for rap introduction), I shot the sheriff. Actually money game2 would be great to help explain she sells seashells plus it’s awesome.
You gotta bring him back to show him Losing It & What You Want!!! They do some busking on 16th street mall.
I know he's been mentioned before, but I just realized the reggae looking dude who probably also busks there started to leave. The camera person kinda follows him. And instantly Ren drops into reggae and the dude comes back grooving to the beat
BTW, Damian Marley "lil gong" is so underrated.
Sam Thomkins has so much The weeknd In him when he sings its crazy, amazing
Dude i am 51. I grew up on Africa Bambaataa, Kool Herc and Flash. We had bootleg tapes. I even saw Bambaataa doing a chill hip hop set in a club in the early 90s. The UK is where house blossomed when it hit england. Jack your body went to number one. We were right there with the rise of Hip Hop with the US and way ahead on house. We aren’t some backward country just finding hip hop! 😊❤
Ren doesn't have a certain style Ren IS a style. Lol love your videos!
I would love to see a 6 song reaction. 3 just barely scratches the surface.
Ethnocentricity +++. Many American's have to learn that when you apply your own cultural references to a different culture - even another English Speaking one - you're going to head WAY Off Base! Reserve judgement and just observe. Wait- watch - listen - ask questions. The world is wide, diverse and Creativity Lives - and THRIVES - in the cracks between the ossified, narrowly identified (and top heavy marketed) sole genre 'lanes'.
REAL Artistry FLYS OVER & ABOVE in the MIX! ENJOY! 😆😄😉
@Black Pegasus
Yo, two things, first, how could you not have him react to Losing It? It’s an EDM song that was big in the clubs in Europe for a long time. Hit him with that ASAP!
Second...I just stumbled upon Ren covering Elvis with “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Guess who else covers that? None other than Angelina Jordan...You’re missing out on a great reaction if you don’t do them side by side.
I didn't think of Carey but as soon as you said it I thought of Me, Myself and Irene.
♡♡♡♡♡ Awesome as usual! Thanks for all you do, including the original stuff 😉
Watched so many with you Black P and it’s great to see you still vibing to this track as I do great guest again bro, also something I don’t think I’ve said before but I can’t think of a song with more relatable content literally everyone from like 5 years old has these battles with their subconscious. No wonder it’s so popular. still love it Ren rocks and he’s made me want to put rap in my songs now too
I thoroughly enjoyed this!!!
All the love ❤
5th of may... for real.
Devin Townsend got some chops too and his b day is may 5th
There are two yt channels by vocal teachers/coaches and theater and opera. They both have reviewed this and the Tales Triology. It's interesting both focused on Ren's acting.
Also BP if you came over with R.A. you must have been introduced to HIGH FOCUS records? It's the biggest hip hop label in the UK. The label owner an MC called FLIPTRIX, has supported R.A. several times and worked with R.A. on tracks too.
Losing it is def for the club!!
Great reaction! If you haven’t heard Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt you should really react to it as well.
There is a huge busking presence in New Orleans.
14:28 heads up! ya Mum is calling you mate! ❤
Busking is a whole culture in New Orleans
Love Ren's hair!
Love these SOOOOO much!
great guest, love the shared reaction format
I am not sure if I have ever seen you play earned it/mans world/falling with Ren and Sam Tomkins. Thanks for another great reaction
Great reaction, loved DJ Sh3vy’s energy and interpretations.
Love to have him back again sometime, 👍
