    A couple comments. On the first TD you showed 3:00, the Steelers post game said they knew the Chiefs like to run the WR out of the backfield into the flat. They anticipated that exact play. Minkah either was caught sleeping / looking in the backfield, or underestimated the speed of the WR. Even more interesting, on the long pass that the Chiefs connected, 5:57 the Steelers blitzed a corner from the left slot (#25 Elliott). The Chiefs had Kelce out wide left, but reset him to an inside position. Did the Chiefs read the blitz pre-snap?? When the ball is hiked, Kelce immediate has eyes on the blitzer and goes straight for him to pick up the blitz! Cool protection scheme, and unselfish play by a star TE like Kelce. If he doesn't make that block the blitz would have been right in Mahomes' face.

    One of the major problems with Pittsburg pass coverage is that they give free releases off the line of scrimmage. They need to disrupt the route and the timing between the quarterback and the receiver expressly on those slant routes to the middle.

  • @samgallup8260
    @samgallup8260 7 дней назад +4

    The Steelers have forced 4 fumbles in the last 2 weeks but haven’t recovered any of those. They also have lost two fumbles in that span (one in the redzone). Those game results are likely very different if the ball literally bounces their way just once or twice. They have essentially 3 redzone turnovers one in each of the last three games. There’s been some ugly but these games were all for the taking. These key missed opportunities are just accentuated with the last three opponents. That being said cut Cam Sutton and start Jaylen Warren over Najee.

      The worthy TD and the TD where he just sat centerfield by himself and offered NO help at all is SHOCKING. Like it looks like straight up frustration making him be lazy, and that’s the WORST response. I’d much rather him be balls to the wall on the first instinct he had and pressing too much giving up stuff than just being like “who cares, the rest of these dudes suck anyway”. I thought Elliot was gonna punch him in the face after the Worthy TD.
      And cam Sutton should have been cut after the Kelce score at the end. Dude should never see the field again after that embarrassment. Add to him going rogue on a blitz…..trash. People need to lay off Queen. Him and Elliot are the ONLY 2 busting ass to try and cover the garage mistakes.

    Thanks, I wanted to see the film on this slowed down. It’s quite clear the whole Defense needs to be better, from the D-line to the DB’s. Sutton needs to sit tho. Coaching is a problem to, he needs to have these guys communicating better. It’s so important especially in zone defense!

  • @getsomemoney2433
    @getsomemoney2433 8 дней назад +3

    Safety being 20 yards deep routinely is egregious. Maybe the thinking is play the safety deep to keep the top over things put as we saw it just let the offense play 11 on 10 underneath and Mahomes and Reid ate their food.
    I guess I can understand the mindset, don’t allow big plays and hope for redzone stops or turnovers. But I’d like us to be a little more aggressive or more unpredictable. Right now we’re letting offenses dictate our defense

  • @kenbourekas420
    @kenbourekas420 8 дней назад +7

    I think that last play Cam Sutton, got stuck, staring at Patrick Mahomes since he was scrambling right in front of his face, he was more interested in running up and tackling him if he was to tuck the ball and run oh, I’ll just forget the best tight end in the NFL release him uncovered into the end zone over and over and over they did the same thing all game long?

  • @kamenbrown7476
    @kamenbrown7476 6 дней назад +1

    Play #4
    In trips detached bunch formation Sutton is supposed be press man & get hands on the point man (#2 Wr / On the ball Wr) to disrupt the timing of the routes & if all 3 WRs don’t push vertical, he takes the first Wr that goes to the flats. He did not. He bailed.. this is why you can see him guessing on the route because he was out of position at the snap.

    3:00 How is this a lack of communication? It looks like a bad defensive scheme to me. As you can see in the clip, the defense relies too much on communicating, and a team like the Chiefs can take advantage of that by hurrying up to the line of scrimmage and quickly running their play before the players on the Steelers' defense can finish their communications amongst. Somebody must tell Coach Austin that this is a weakness of his defense that better teams will exploit in critical moments like 1st conversations and red zone touchdowns. So, let's eliminate a lot of this pre-snap chitter chatter because it does not work in the Playoffs, especially since they'll be playing on the road and have to deal with low crowds trying to interfere with their "communications."

    Steelers fans didn't say that when they were winning and who your going to get as a coach we don't have an elite quarterback and safety and the Rooney are too cheap to get an elite coaching staff 😮

    The problem on the first TD was the possibilty of a fade. Like what would they have done against 83 running a fade?
    Absolutely nothing, pure green grass. Minkah probably knew and just couldn't decide how to lose. KC didn't run a fade, I don't know why, but that way Minkah looked like a fool

    I think the problem is we are too predictable. Mahomes knew exactly where the opening would be. We play cover 3 way too much. Having the safety so far back let him throw under everytime.

    But CBS didn't show it here in north TEXAS.
    Just only have one thing to saY..
    Another 3 game in 11 days against 3 +500 teams..
    The steelers are beat up tired and the back side of our defense isn't a great or even good pass coverage. Haven't been for 15 years...

    The secondary has been shielded most of the year as the pass rush has been good. But when you go against the top qbs in the league as they’ve done for the last 4 weeks and the def can’t get pressures you get exposed.

      Pass rush and coverage go hand in hand. Now a good pass rush can make an average coverage look better and the same the other way around.

    They seem to hurt themselves trying to disguise coverages. Queen is at line at right and then drops to cover a guy on left out of backfield. Obviously late and he wouldn’t be down in 2 handb touch.

    all im saying is minkah is being paid big money and is a vet should def not have issues in his area of the field.. i do believe the middle safety played that far back in this game bc of worthy and brown speed
    one person that stands out to me the most is sutton.. and imo its no coincidence defense communication has gotten worse since sutton came back.. he has been in every bad play lol

    Pittsburgh really relying on the pass rush sacks and forced fumbles the secondary gets lost because they normally don’t have to defend like they do playing great coached teams and very talented teams

    The fans calling for more man coverage are idiots. Man is bad against the run too. The best schemes are always majority zone. The calls should be mixed so to not be predictable. With the way this defense is struggling with match concepts I'm gonna say they need to play more spot-drop zone and keep everything in front of them. Have the underneath zones drop 5 yards in passing situations. It eliminates the deep and intermediate passes. We have good athletes. Make them throw short and tell the guys in coverage to gang tackle like hungry dogs. There should be 2-3 guys in on every tackle. Tackle hard and dirty if necessary. Punch and strip the ball out. If they try anything deep then guys will be in position to punish them if the pressure doesn't get there first. Then when they aren't expecting it sprinkle in some press cover1, 2-man, zone match, combo coverages, and zone blitzes. That's how real defense keep offenses on edge. This defense doesn't force the offense into corners. They just play a step behind and take the punishment.

      I agree, but at this point, it's looking like Austin and Tomlin are just being outclassed by superior O.C.s so I don't think they can adjust like the rest of the nfl.

    Jackson should be a safety, and there are two (2) areas where performance is egregious for him and one other player. That's coverage in the back, allowing the long pass completion, and in the front, Broderick Jones blocking high is ridiculous! Broderick Jones consistently blocks high leaving running backs vulnerable and causing quarterback sacks with his ineptness. Broderick Jones is a consistent high blocker and this is absolutely unacceptable, if it's an injury he should not be on the field, if he's this lazy he should not be on the field for this reason either. If he continued moving his feet, instead of planting them and then swiping he was still have mistakes but they would be minimal. This is either injury or laziness. The question is who should be the cornerback covering Jackson's side of the field since Joey Porter is back? Who should replace Broderick Jones horrible blocking skills? This bad habit will not be corrected in one game and we will see more sacks and blown running back plays because of Broderick Jones. as far as playing better defensively I believe the short field areas will be corrected with this rest, and by normal coaching maneuvers. My issue is these two (2) positions need to be changed now for us to be Sirius contenders, and I don't think my position changes will be fixed and that's why my criticism prediction is here. these changes are adapted in someway then we will be strong against the Bengals. If not I would pass against Jackson and use my third best against Broderick, because you don't need your best against him, except for when I wanted to put one of my sack masters against him so they could get in and demolish the quarterback.
