If we put a resistor across the diode then the capacitor start discharging hence there is no peak voltage Vm at the capacitor. If resistor is present out put peak values gets changes .
In the negative half cycle, using Kirchoff's law, it is (-Vi-Vc-Vo = 0) and not (Vi-Vc-Vo = 0). So how is this waveform possibel!!?
You are right but when we are talking about a negative half cycle Vi is negative too
