I get there’s different teams but omg, it’s infuriating to see such a beautiful model wasted on horrendous animations.
They just slapped the Belgian warm blood gallop on, it’s so ugly and close to the floor. It would be so nice for the horse to actually stretch out and the fast gallop to feel actually fast
@@henrietta9394 Agreed, I mean literally i have never seen a horse gallop like that, sure, theres going to be some, but even for a dressage horse, it’s a very odd gate.
Valegro is a bay with an interesting clip and they based the Warmbloods on abused FEI warmbloods so that’s why the gaits are so bad. Editing again : the legs are based off the FEI horses that are rolkur trained so the gaits are exaggerated but the neck isn’t hyperflexed so it looks funky because the neck and legs are not matched in exaggeration and also the extended trot is based off of the FEI extended trots which are not natural
I want to comment on the Valegro thing and say I used to ride a pony who was a very obvious bay in the summer and then looked kind of like a liver chestnut in the winter. I’m sure it was his winter coat that made him look like that but it was so weird to little kid me that horses could just change coat colors like that haha
@@VixxTheFoxxit’s actually the type of light they have in the stables! It keeps the daylight time the same as summer, so they don’t shed their summer coat 😊
@@VixxTheFoxx because many dressage and any competing horse works in the winter, they may not compete but they still train, they still workout. They're clipped in winter because sweat and that cold of weather is not a good mix, unless you want sweat to literally freeze onto the horse and create painful scabs, you clip the horse like you would the rest of the year with working horses. It's for the horses benefit to keep their winter coat away.. unless they aren't working but some non working horses will still need it clipped... that being the ones with cushings. Some also oddly don't grow winter coats even if out 24/7, i know a few people who had horses who just wouldn't grow a winter coat so they had to rug them. I know some who rug horses even with a winter coat because they still shiver somehow (has nothing to do with the owner). It helps them not overheat so fast, and then that much sweat with the cold... again, not good.
a bay has dark gray skin like you see on it's muzzle, so when you clip them to have really short fur, that gray shimmers through the coat, making the entire horse look gray-ish
The fast gallop really triggers my soul, it reminds me so much of a cheap horse game where they don’t really have good animations. I’m only going to buy one since I buy one of every single new horse that comes out but I’m not using it until it gets updated (hopefully), they did such a good job on the mustangs, why couldn’t they do that for the Dutch warmblood? It’s like they rushed the whole thing and didn’t take their time with the horse, my soul has been triggered. 😭
note on the dw : the conformation + it's movements are that of a horse who lacks muscle, engagement, and overall soundness. if you notice (nit picky here!) hind end muscle does't move in the game, the hind legs do of course, but the muscle on the butt and top end of the topline do not move, this to the eye makes it look like the horse is moving completely backwards. at the walk, the head bobbing can be signs of lameness, at the trot the horse stalls A LOT and seems very uncomfortable, at the canter right hind seems dead lame and head bobbing and stalling continuous, hand gallop as you said the lack of neck movement is unrealistic and horse is landing very hard and just looks the the result of foul breeding. confirmation wise, the horse is slightly overweight, at least it's weight does not equate to the muscle on the horse, and muscle needed to perform these gaits, (side not, saddle sits slightly too far back on the horse, pushing the idea of the horse being slightly overweight.). your point on it looking like the rider is holding the horse on the bit is exactly why all these gaits look the way they do. horse is WAY too round with 0 hind end engagement ( which ='s a backwards horse who isn't using muscle to move forward off the leg). a frame is carried out through proper hind end engagement and a steady connection. these horses are more likely than not based off overbred dressage horses who rather then being trained and taught these gaits were bred for them, giving them the ability to move like this without proper training and muscles. many horses these days, in the higher ranks, will perform these gaits by skipping alllllll the steps in between which equates to them moving backwards and just wrong. overall well done horse, just nit picky things that make the whole picture look off. horse seems to also seems to lack soundness in many gaits. if they would have spent a few more weeks on these horses i would be happy. i love sso but also love to critique them lol. so many hrose before this have be executed well, just wish they'd done a little more. further note; the coats truly are remarkable. the chestnut reminds me of a horse i showed for a few weeks last year, and the face marking is that of a hrose i leased for finals this year... i am so impressed with them!
As a dressage rider of 8 years, I adore the piaffe, the way its flexing and looks so elastic is beautiful, and I love the Glamourdale feel to the ext. canter, but overall they aren't as good as I was hoping they'd be :(
I own a Dutch warmblood. He looks similar to the dark bay, but with socks and a bigger blaze. These horses look so much like him-it’s scary XD they are so well done :)
