    Sweet looking ride, it's kinda ironic IMO, that what HD really needs now, is a designer and a management team that is prepared to design and make bikes like this. 17 years on and the XB9S looks better than most of the 2020 models I have seen, from any manufacturer (personal opinion). Good luck with the sale and I hope you don't get too many time wasters, ride safe, ride often and keep that throttle pinned...

      Thanks Anthony. I totally agree. This bike looks contemporary and even futuristic even though it's 17 years old. These bikes were way ahead of their time, Eric Buell was/is a genius and he never really got the credit he deserved. I've already dealt with quite a few time wasters and tire kickers which is why I went with the ebay listing. I appreciate the feedback, take care.

      First time I ever saw these bikes was when I would see them often a block away from my house. A local guy was tasked with creating prototype plastics for the blast. When I saw the these especially that low exhaust and the Harley rumble in a sport bike. Definitely ahead of its time design wise.

    Love Buells. I’ve had too now. 2006 xb12ss super comfy ride a tad to tall for me. If you ride two up def get a ss or a Ulysses. Now I have an 09 xb12r with xbs bars. Best of both bikes. More upright seating position. Awesome suspension, good power, and really strong brakes. Upgraded to a EBR front master and it made a huge difference. If your on the fence get one. The looks you’ll get are amazing.

    xb9 is modified harley. Tuned to run at higher rpm than its twin. Long list of parts made just for buell. Its my wet dream. A sport bike with harley sound. I have a Blast getting modded right now.

    Buells are the corvette of motorcycles. I had a 2002 x1. Zippers cams. Thunderstorm heads and pistons from a s1 white lighting. Bladed flywheels. Force winder exhaust and air cleaner. It was B.A.!

    I had a 2006 Buell XB12 Lightning similar to this model. Great bike! It was fun, fast, and had the great Harely Davidson sound. Eric Buell was an amazing engineer, and created a great sport bike even under the HD constraints. Only downside I found was you needed to keep the fuel tank full to keep the engine cooler during operation I'm the HOT desert.

      It was a fun bike, It actually took 3 months to sell which surprised me. I thought having only 10k miles and being super clean it would've been snatched up quick. Ended up selling it for $3100. Fun bike's the Buell's are.

    Hey! What settings did you use to tune the exhaust? I'm building a custom Buell with my dad in Australia. Tuned it to base specs with the Bluetooth dongle, but just added a high flow intake and would like to get rid of that huge exhaust. There's barely any info on them down here, any info would be great!

    • @DoctorMotorcycle
      @DoctorMotorcycle  3 года назад

      I added 6% fuel to both maps. There's a function that will allow you to scale both the front and rear cylinder maps at the same time, I forget the name of it. It's a box in the corner that you click. I also tried adding more timing in the midrange cells (3-4k rpm) with some decent success. The flat spot doesn't seem as bad but it's hard to tell if it's placebo or not. The biggest change comes from the intake and exhaust, the fueling is just to be safe.

    Nice bike. but why does the starter motor sounds like it's at the end of it's rope?

    • @DoctorMotorcycle
      @DoctorMotorcycle  3 года назад +6

      Very typical of Harley Davidson engines. It happens when one cylinder is on the compression stroke, and it takes a second or so to bleed of the compression so the starter can get the motor spinning fast. It doesn't do that every time. Thanks for watching

    3800$ sense of truth! You should export the bikes to Germany. I bought my XB9s from 2004 with 50.000km=80.000mile for 4000€=4700$.
    For this sweetie you get here easily 7000$
