Heck they can't even market their own playerse
Probably as good as they could get.
If they employed your criteria for "celebrity," then they'd be horrible marketers.. most traditional "A-List Celebrities" don't move the needle in this setting.
If they had people like Drake, Heidi Klum, etc. do you think their fanbases would tune-in for them?
Having newer generation "internet celebrities" w/ younger & more engaged fanbases is a smart marketing tactic.

Not surprising MLB makes their content unwatchable with so many Ads. They have always been so bad with online content and it’s one reason more kids are into basketball, hockey or football while less and less are into baseball.
