Great review, very much appreciate your analytical approach to testing your gear. Keep up the good work :) I don’t know if it’s just me, but I seemed to notice your sound dropping out from time to time. Nothing major, just thought I would mention it :)
As usual a great review that's different from all other reviews . I have a question. What's the max current output you can get from the power out port on the AM5? I have seen conflicting info but no one seems to have actually measured it!
I love the math you throw into your videos. This makes your videos unique. Thank you for your analysis of the guiding performance. I haven't seen anyone explain the PE. I know you said you will not use this mount for your SCT but would you be confident enough to recommend this mount for use with a C8 using and OAG imaging at 1442mm and 2032mm given average seeing or should I stick to a GEM with counterweights. My OTA weight with image train is about 19ish lbs. I'd probably go for an EQ6 but I have to set up and tear down every session and I'm wondering about moving 38lbs up and down a short set of stairs plus the two CW and the tripod. I also have to disassemble and store the equipment when not in use so I'm considering a harmonic drive mount for the size and weight but guiding is most important attribute for me. When you calibrate PHD2 do you get a successful result every time. No errors being reported . Is the graph close to 90°? No backlash errors reported? In your opinion do you think most of the harmonic mounts would have the same guiding performance? None of the other manufacturers publish PE with their mounts. Thanks again.
When discussing counter weights and counter weight bar, shouldn't we always choose a weght to keep bar length as short as possible. I know the AM5 doesnt need one doesn't require one but for us plebs still using the equaltorial mounts?
I get what you’re saying, but for some people (myself included), this is enjoyable and adds to my Astrophotography experience. To each their own. Merry Christmas all.
Merry Christmas and wish you a happy New Year from NL.

Thanks for the video. I have been waiting for this.
Thanks for the details; espec the method to calculate position of CG; nice explanation!

My AM5 has shown a number of issues after a few months. ZWO support ghosted me. Good luck with yours. Your mileage will vary.

Strong hint: buy the ASIAIR and complete the package
And be locked in into their ecosystem? No thank you!
Finding the CG...why not simply balance it on the wedge? Unnecessarily complicated method you have there.
