My first listen to this song was last night. Yuri and Tomo-zo were the standouts but my goodness, the whole band was so tight on this one. I had my doubts about Yuri when she first joined the band, because Hana is a phenomenal drummer, but Yuri brings a different groove which is a perfect fit for the direction GS is taking. She was amazing in this song. Her fills, and especially her drumming to compliment the guitar solos, were amazing. Like you, hopefully one day I can see them live in person. Also, congratulations on being the winner of the video reaction. Well deserved especially since you have been a big promoter of this band. Maybe they will let you join them on stage so you can bop your head back and forth.
Thanks for highlighting the transitions - I’m probably biased, and maybe it’s just cause I listen to their music more, but I find they fit different sections together and make it a lot less jarring than other bands that do similar things. P.s. can’t wait for you to hear Nanmaida - may cause a Wave brain meltdown! 🤯🤣
Oh, GS are playing on Sat 12th at the convention, but I don’t know if there’ll be meet and greet or anything else that might be other days. Guess it would make sense to all the same day.
Just finished the Line Shibuya concert that comes with the cd and I’m completely exhausted now 😅, I probably should start working out while listening to Winner.
One thing I don't think you could ever say about them is, that they don't put all their heart and soul into their songs and shows. ❤🔥🤘🏻 You better believe it happened. 😉 And yes, reactions like the one to your video or the insights they give us through their bts videos make these ladies special for me too. They are just great people with such a positive charisma. Inspiring is perhaps also a word that could describe it well. Revisiting this one Wave - great reaction! I'm sure you've probably watched GS's reaction to you again (I've lost count how many times I've watched it!) but here are some quotes: Koga - "He's pretty awesome right" after linking the issun bochi story back to the lyrics Hana - "Isn't he a good player" (everyone agrees) whilst playing Mindset Oreo - "He's just like Hana because he's a multiplayer" after playing KKY and the drum outro 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
My copy probably arrives tomorrow (either that or Monday), but I can not wait to go through the album. I had already heard this track during the live set where they played only unreleased songs (I guess they are not unreleased any more), but that chorus + the waving dance moves were already ingrained in my head. Everything I have heard from this album has been great.

@@homegnome2429 I quickly listened to Nanmaida once, just ripped it my copy before going to work and copied it over. I will listen to the whole thing during the rest of the day, I generally listen to music from and to work. I have a feeling this track needs way more listenes to form a full opinion with all the changes, but I enjoyed it on first listen. It's probably one of the tracks with the most changes by them and it has a lot of experimentation, not sure if everybody is going to like it althouhg Gacharic Spin fans generally expect a lot of changes. I am also curious if they are going to play this live, because that's not going to be easy.
@@MaartenT Yes, I felt with all the changes and a number of the bands you've said you've enjoyed recently then this would appeal to you. If the whole album was like that song it would likely be too much for me, but for one track on the album it's really cool for me.
Not only great musicians, but also just great people. I myself waited far too long before I took a closer look or listened to GS, although I've heard and read their name again and again for years. I'm angry with myself on the one hand, but at the same time, I couldn't be happier that I did it. They and their music have become one of my most important companions.
Love this. Hard core punk sound followed by the 180 sunny poppy part - I just love it when bands throw genres to the wind like this. Or rather, make a stew out of them and serve it up nice and HOT!
Great reaction and remember that before GS Hana was a bass player, she knows how to to slap and pop. Also, you're going to need to get a new wig, Hana is now blond and black (unless that's a hat, hard to tell). If you go to the con, bring your dancing shoes as they may drag you on-stage. Love that "Rays your hands" - space invaders are coming. Also, Yoyoka knows GS.
Did they meet during NAONのYAON? I believe I saw some pictures with Yoyoka and a lot of artists back then and Gacharic Spin is there every year. Talking about drummers, I always knew yuri was a very good drummer that was a bit overlooked because of Hana being the previous drummer (and yuri isn't as flashy), but the stuff she pulls of on this album (in replica for example) is pretty impressive. Hopefully the naysayers will also see that she deserves to be in the band.
When Gacharic Spin released "Mindset" I did a dive down their prior releases. This band has evolved far beyond their beginnings as the accompaniment to a dancing idol group. GS is now a force to be reckoned with. Congrats on getting reacted to! I have noticed that some of the Japanese bands do pay attention to reactors and commentors. I swear Band-Maid updates the mix on some of their RUclips releases in reaction to the comments section.
They switched labels from Victor, who didn't seem to care too much about them any more and actively disliked youtube in the past to Nippon Crown/Crown Stones, Band-Maid's old label who saw with Band-Maid that you can grow a band through youtube. I can guarantee you they (both their label and the band) are working very hard on it.
@@MaartenT it is curious that wave had more followers then GS. They have been around longer than Band Maid but have so few follows. I really like their current line up and style. Especially the current lead singer.

I have read that they used to only put shortened versions of their MV's online because they sold the MV's on the limited editions of their albums and EP's (which I know for a fact they did owning a bunch of them). That probably doesn't help with getting people to subscribed to your channel. They also have a lot of stuff behind their fanclub paywal (but I guess a lot of Japanese bands do including Band-Maid). They apparently uploaded a whole bunch of the old MV's to their channel later on, but even Forever 9teen only got a short official version and the full MV was only available for people who bought a livestreamed concert. I am not sure if it was a decission by the band or Victor, but I have a feeling it might be Victor with how much they apparently used to block. That said, they seem pretty lenient for Lovebites for some reason, so who knows. It's obviously always a difficult decission either way since it's their livelyhood. And yes, I really like the current lineup as well (it's probably my favourite), but all of them are worth checking out. I probably like the original lineup the least but I also haven't seen too much from that lineup and I know Armmy was really beloved as well, there is no question the band wouldn't have been what it is today without her. It's just that footage is more difficult to come by and it was a relatively short lineup.

Their new album is great! To me it's the album of the year so far! There are some months left but this album is hard to beat.
