As a person, an artist and a singer, she was streets ahead of Yoko.

Contrary to the belief that John just fell in love with Yoko as soon as he met her and then they lived a fairytale life together, actually John wanted nothing to do with Yoko at first. She had to wage quite a determined campaign just to get him to sleep with her, and even then, for a year she was just the side chick trying to get a toehold in his life by feeding him drugs and stalking him at his marital home, and at work. She'd just show up at his work and most of the time he'd refuse to see her so she'd hang around outside, hide behind a car, then ambush him when he was leaving, pretending to just accidentally be running into him. Extremely devious. She'd go to his and Cynthia's home and just hang around outside. Once it was raining so hard Cynthia took pity on her and invited her in. So Yoko left her ring so she'd have another excuse to get into his home. It wasn't about what John wanted. Yoko forced herself on him, deliberately made Cynthia know about her presence and shattered their relationship, and John just couldn't get rid of her. Classic stalker. Yoko got what she wanted. She went after John tenaciously and relentlessly until John was so sick with drugs that he just gave in. Yoko is a vile woman.
Sad what he did to her and his son Julian. he lost 2 great loving people, and went downhill for the worse..his dad abandoned him .. so he abandoned his son.. sad he destroyed his life. hurt 2 most amazing people. Cynthia be strong you have an amazing talented son. Peace and love to you both.

Harsh but true. In his defense though, that's what happens when you have a disrupted childhood. Ineffective relationship skills.... fear of committment, fear of attachment. Addiction to drama. Lots of people have horrible childhoods, enduring abuse of all kinds and neglect from parents and many of them suffer abject poverty and surprisingly the majority of them do not become abusers or serial killers. Life it about choices and when one decides to not allow childhood circumstance determine the path of life they take and instead become model parents. Sadly, a lot of folks treat the children of their first marriage like dirt and dote on the children of the 2nd which is what John did. He thumbed his nose at Julian in life and in death as well and continues to do so from the grave via Joko. In contrast Sean could do no wrong where he made Julian work for his bread in effect making Julian the better man - better than his father and his brother. However it wasn't John's intent to make a better chap of Jules by treating him worse than a red-headed step-child, it is what happened in spite of it all - which is what John did to Julian - he abandoned him out of spite for Cynthia. For all of John's rap on peace and love and taking care of your fellow man and all that goody-goody bullshit John doesn't measure up to his own preaching. He was a damn hypocrite!

Cynthia and Julian are two of the finest peaple to come from the Beatles it seem the Lennons have had a hard time with parents problems I like all of them but it is a heart breaker to all of them Julian the finest man you could ask for as for John he to was a good guy but he hard severe scars from the father thing and il be dam if he didn't do the same thing I understand that Freddys father left him too Julian turned out a very good and honest man you won't to blame John but you really can't do that eather

Cynthia was too good for John! He didn't deserve her. She was total class. It was too much for him to continue trying to be in her class. He wasn't man enough. So he dumped her and stooped to be with Joko. He continued dumping people with his son Julian being next in line. He wasn't man enough to be a father to him and didn't deserve him either. Then he dumped his writing partner and mate Paul McCartney. Then it was the other two fellows in the band, George & Ringo that he dumped. He even treated George Martin terrible! He used Joko to be his wrecking ball to destroy the band. He wasn't man enough to just say, "Hey, mates - I don't want to do this anymore," so he purposefully brought Joko into the situation and allowed her to wreck havoc among them knowing it would be the death of the Beatles. He didn't have the balls to just be a man about or to be loyal to those closest to him that he one by one distanced himself from and replaced them with Joko and their son Sean. I respect John as a musician but as a man I cannot respect him at all. He's not a hero. The way he treated Cynthia, Julian and Paul says it all!

In his defense though, that's what happens when you have a disrupted childhood. Ineffective relationship skills.... fear of committment, fear of attachment. Addiction to drama.
No excuses for being a bastard but it goes someway to explain his awful life choices in regard to friends and family.
Ps it wasn't that Cynthia was too good for him.. it's more that she represented security and that's why he initially wanted her... but that security came with an inevitable element of mediocrity and boredom. No drama. And he couldn't, and wouldn't, want to tolerate that. Yoko was drama. She suited his self absorbed chaos. And he suited hers.
Yes it's hard to believe he left her but go to hell. You have no idea how rough his childhood was. Paul even said he had it rough, rougher than he had it. So leave his resting soul alone. Don't judge others unless you knew him.

Jerry Vanhees - Lots of people had terrible childhoods full of abuse and abandonment. But they learned from their tragic experiences and grew up to be good, nurturing parents. Apparently he knew how to do it for Sean. Nice try.
Lots of people have horrible childhoods, enduring abuse of all kinds and neglect from parents and many of them suffer abject poverty and surprisingly the majority of them do not become abusers or serial killers. Life it about choices and when one decides to not allow childhood circumstance determine the path of life they take and instead become model parents. Sadly, a lot of folks treat the children of their first marriage like dirt and dote on the children of the 2nd which is what John did. He thumbed his nose at Julian in life and in death as well and continues to do so from the grave via Joko. In contrast Sean could do no wrong where he made Julian work for his bread in effect making Julian the better man - better than his father and his brother. However it wasn't John's intent to make a better chap of Jules by treating him worse than a red-headed step-child, it is what happened in spite of it all - which is what John did to Julian - he abandoned him out of spite for Cynthia. For all of John's rap on peace and love and taking care of your fellow man and all that goody-goody bullshit John doesn't measure up to his own preaching. He was a damn hypocrite!
