  • Motorise your blinds. It's cheap, easy and awesome! Here's how I did it.
    After renovating our house and getting some lovely patio doors installed, I realised that I needed some shading for those rare sunny days in the UK!
    When looking to purchase some roller blinds, I didn't want a cord dangling in the middle of the doors and the only way to prevent that was to get electric blinds.
    Originally I got quotes from companies asking for thousands of pounds so I did it myself and it only cost a couple of hundred!
    If you have any questions feel free to ask.
    Below is a list of the parts I used.
    If you click the Amazon.com affiliate links, it'll take you straight to the items and really help out my channel! It won't cost you anything. Appreciate it!

    Very artistically and planned video. On the audio mix, I recommend the music turn down a notch. During production the balance was probably just right, but rendering often changes the balance. If the music is loud enough to make you spaz out and hear the melody in place of the talking then it’s too high.
    Otherwise very very unique and artistically made video one of the best planned videos online

    How much did this entire process cost you?

    • @robotanv
      @robotanv  Год назад +1

      Hi and thanks for watching! I'd say about $800 in total - about $250 per set of blinds. So that includes the cost of the custom blind, electric motor kit with remote, wall-mounting bracket.

    Can you please explain how you paired different remotes in detail? I am unsure how you achieved synchronous movement with a single remote controller. Appreciate your help. Thanks.

    • @robotanv
      @robotanv  Год назад

      Hi and thanks for watching the video! Getting the blinds paired with a single remote was fairly straightforward but the synchronous motion took some planning to get right. Essentially it involved setting up each blind individually with the others unpowered. That's probably the simplest way I can describe it. If there's enough interest, I may do a specific video on it.

    DIY means do it yourself, as in: build the thing from scratch💁 It doesn't mean: purchase the completed product you want from a website🤦

    • @commentcreepin4567
      @commentcreepin4567 9 месяцев назад +11

      Most people aren’t interested in designing blinds from scratch. Automated blinds can cost thousands so this was a good diy for the installation and ordering vs using a full service company

    • @vicki6210
      @vicki6210 8 месяцев назад +4

      Oh get over yourself, what are you expecting people to sow the blinds themselves as well? By hand.. Buying a seperate motor and wiring it in yourself is not buying the completed thing - that can cost hundreds of pounds.

    I would have purchased the electric window paint, that blanks the window when a voltage is provided to each window, so no dangling items and no moving parts, but you can also get glass window units with Venetian blinds inside between the glass, that are used in offices for privacy, very neat and no dangling parts again. But a good video thanks
