Cheers friend we just found your channel and subscribed. We love to home brew beer , grow some hops , make wine and mead and others on our channel . Stay thirsty and brew good beer .
Thank you so much! I'm growing my own hops this year too, I started them from seed actually 3 years ago and now they finally look like they are about to make cones! Glad you like the channel :)
I'm not sure, it doesn't say. It just says ONE GALLON on it. I would imagine it would be US gallon, because that seems to be the standard for measuring this type of liquid.
In my experience, that hasn't been necessary. Soap and water works just fine to disinfect and I've never owned (or needed) a hydrometer. When it's done, it's done and usually turns out fine. I'm not concerned about knowing the ABV either as long as it's drinkable, no one gets hurt.
Sorry, but soap's function is to break down the water surface and so allow water to remove dirt. Soap does not itself sanitize. Most wine makers use K-meta to sanitize with sulfur and most brewers use Star San to sanitize with acid. Soap leaves a film that is not a problem with cooking or eating but when we ferment grains or fruit, we leave the beer or wine in those vessels for weeks or months and that soap film adds unwanted flavors to the ales and wines we make. You really want to avoid using soap to CLEAN anything that touches your wort or must. PBW is , I think, the only cleaner approved for use by commercial breweries and wineries to clean equipment.
Really interesting approach
Can a person use regular table sugar instead ? I am just a beginner and I like simple 1 gal. recipes.
Thank You

Yes, you can absolutely use regular table sugar! I would say about 1 cup of sugar per gallon. Happy brewing! 🙂
Crazy brew

😮washing is good but need to sanitize
Is your fermenter an imperial or a US gallon?

No sanitizing? No gravity readings?
I hope nobody get hurt…..

It's funny how people think there is o ly one way to brew
😂😂😂

@@kb2vca hmm, so we use soap to wash bacteria off our hands, but it won't wash away bacteria in a fermenting vessel? 🤔
can you at least show us the end result through a clear glass?
In hindsight, that would have been a good idea.
