For lovers of the Chameleons' /chameleonsvox / Mark's music: seeing and hearing 'em, live - it's more of a religious experience of sorts, deep within one's soul. (Though sing-a-long gigs, drive me mad!)
This song just means so much to me ....it beings tears to my eyes its just perfect...I keep playing to my son ..... who loves music to. Thanks for the upload
Wholeheartedly agree with you, absolutely fantastic band... Ppl I know who says the best bands from Manchester usually name the obvious.... Seen The Chameleons 9 times now.... Stay safe mate.
Gave me goosebumps. I saw them at the Electric Ballroom, Camden Town back in 85-ish. They had to call off the gig after one song because Mark Burgess’ voice was shot (a couple of us managed to get up on the stage to help him out with the singing but we sounded so bad, they cut the power immediately); went to the rescheduled gig which was fantastic. Their music is timeless, and has such a melancholic majestic power to it. Deserved to be huge. God bless them.
Yes I also went to that gig all excited to see them play- then as you said nothing came out when he tried to sing. Packed house that night and we all shuffled home. Didn't see them until last year in Oxford- absolutely brilliant but a missed memory methinks
Volkmar, could you enlighten me as to what camera/phone you used to film this? I would be most appreciative, and thanks for uploading this piece of magic. I'm teary eyed everytime I watch it.
I keep coming back to this as it captures the magic of audience participation so well. I'm traveling to Manchester for 4 days in December to attend the two nighter at the Ritz and have built my schedule around them. They don't know if the balcony will be open. I hope it is as the view is great. Seeing Johnny Marr in Manc the week prior too. Busy busy. Nothing like live music. 🖤
I was 2 days ago with them in concert ..marvellous group ..for me better than U2, , simple minds or the Cure.. I never understood why they didn t have success..may be music to complex ..but terrible for me..more than 50 beers.. this song is absolutely WONDERFULL
Some of the publicity was as C/Vox, but finding Reg was back and playing that was as close to original as you were going to get with the loss of John in 2017. The Ritz that night was magical as ever. @@pressureworks
I'd love to see those photos mate.... I got a photo of Mark stood by the side of the car I used to have.... The bonnet was air brushed with the album cover of What Does Anything Mean Basically?... That was in Bristol about 3 or 4 years ago.... He's a really nice guy to talk to as well.
Saw them here in Atlanta US. For their last tour. Got on stage and sung with birdie. Was also fortunate to see mark here on some solo acoustic shows. Evidently he has a great friend here in ATL. But yes, he is top notch.

Sem palavras, fico arrepiado sempre que vejo este vídeo, estes jovens aos pulos são o máximo 😂🙌🙌🙌🙌
Lucky bugger
When they reach the chorus and the crowd kicks in...I may have shed a tear or two.
i too :) is sooo nice to see !!
Exactly
Yes the tears flow , and if they didn't you are just not lucky enough to be connected to the cosmological constant.

I finally got to see them live, and I had tears in my eyes the whole time it was gorgeous
The crowd jumping like in the old times, wish to go back in time and see this band with the original line up.
... timeless tunes..
Not possible. The drummer John Lever died 2017. RIP.
Actually, when you look at the 1985 footage from Camden Palace, there is little movement in the crowd.
@@jefdarcy I've got the dvd.... To be honest with you, I thought that the crowd seemed bored..... Bloody brilliant band though.... Seen them 9 times
It was more amazing with the original. If you grew up listening to them when i did. Im oldish. But Vox is great as well.
Buzzin !!! what a fukin band, Mark Burgess is a fukin pure genius... love em with all me heart, sublime lyrics written by an educated master
The best song by the best band who no one knows....
Such a shame.

Like Live at the Camdem Palace 1984 36 year ago, the same quality. Amazing!!
First saw them live in 85 or so... still great to see mark still jamming and people still loving them...
The people celebrate properly, i see a similar good atmosphere only in peru. Really impressive, I wish I had been there !

Please name the video to "Chameleons Vox". This isn't The Chameleons
I think they toured as the chameleons, with Reg !

Can anyone tell me why 80% of the crowd was bald? Seriously; it's unusual.
'Cause they're in their fifties?
I love that the skinheads get you that's so bad ass they so matter thank you for bringing them front center to spiritual badassness
???
So so beautiful, i'm creepy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fascino immutato ...
wait for it
la gente sabia a lo que iba :D
I don’t know why I’m so emotional. But i do. I have the nicest pictures with mark.
John reg and Dave.

Gen X! We rule!
????????????
pretty much increasing forehead skin in the audience though... guess you can call it second skin. bring back Dave !
Average age of the crowd: 50. Them millenials have no clue what real music sounds like lol.
Last time I saw them in Oxford there were loads of people in their 20's and 30's in the crowd singing along - new generations of fans
I wish Dave Fielding would stop whining. Seriously.
???
