I know! That, and hearing her say to Fran, "I saw your mother..." Makes it all seem kinda surreal, doesn't it?
At 13:31, did Fran just say, "Listen, 'Ma'...rilyn....!"? Can any confirm? Almost as if she nearly forgot she wasn't talking to Fran Fine's mother for a second there, if she did!

I love the little callback to The Nanny with her serving "tongue'. Silvia does that in the episode of the Nanny when everyone gets snowed in at her house.
Also a funny little nod to when Sylvia had that fling with the butcher

This show is funnier than 90 percent of what's on today and it only lasted like 35 episodes. 😢
Fran is still the same as in The Nanny with her acting and expressions. When she was with Sylvia the chemistry was so spot on. It was like watching The Nanny, down to the writing.
The rest of this show just doesn't hit me right. The camera style. The characters. The chemistry. The writing.

This show is written well, it's just a little 123 123. But I still love it.
I agree with you about Fran and Sylvia chemistry and the fact that Fran's style is always the same in these sitcoms which is a blast i love her comedy style but this show is great, i laughed a lot watching it.
Peter Marc Jacobson does this show and he also does The Nanny. I love how Sylvia never changed!!!

I can't believe this show was cancelled. I am watching episode after episode, I am laughing so hard and all in all I love it. It's funny and I like that it's done in the Nanny stile (since is produced by Fran and her ex husband). I don't get it why was not renewed? The lines are funny, the facial expressions are funny, the show guests which are making allusions to the nanny show are funny. It's very clever tailored. What was wrong with the network for not signing this show again? Can this be brought back somehow? Please somebody bring this show back.

We need to remember as fans that at this point in their lives some actresses don't want a full time job on a show. It's a lot of work and they've been there done that. Having Renee be the neighbor allowed for the nostalgia , while she didn't have to be in every episode.

I grew up watching The Nanny and wanted to watch this show so badly but I was a broke college student without a television subscription. I feel that much of my generation, and a large portion of those who would have been their audience, was in the same financial boat whether they were in college or not.

I didn't know "Sylvia" was in this show. But I shouldn't be surprised, Fran loves her 'The Nanny' cast mates. And loves involving them in her projects and they love to support. Charles, who played Mr. Sheffield, guest starred too.
Rita Moreno(Ms. Dori) is an American icon, a living legend, who was dancing before the age that most of us could read a sentence. lol 1 of only 16 EGOT(Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) winners. 1 of only FIVE PEGOT(Pulitzer or Peabody) winners! She won her Oscar for playing Anita in the movie "West Side Story". The same role that Chita Rivera had originated on Broadway prior to the movie.
