  • This is a metal demo of the Lundgren M9C pickup set, using a Schecter Damien Platinum 9-string.
    Tuning is: A0, D1, A, D, A, D, G, B, E.
The Lundgren M9 bridge pickup has incredible clarity, even in ultra-low tunings. The note separation is fantastic, it has tons of pick attack, and has some of the most satisfyingly tight chugs imaginable. I cannot emphasize that enough: You just feel powerful when palm muting with these.
The neck pickup does an awesome job with clear, full, and fluid leads.
In a clean setting, these pickups have great character, and a nice bit of "chime" to them.

Great riff! I own the same guitar and I’m about to try and swap out the 909’s for the M9C. Was it an easy process? Are the 500k pots hard to install?

@@Blacklight_Music Thanks!! I really appreciate the comment.
If you're pretty decent at soldering, it's pretty seamless. I kept the same pickup selector and input jack, and just switched the two pots out. Didn't take long at all!
One thing to keep in mind, is the cover on the M9C is a bit thicker than the EMG. So it might sound like there's less output at the same height, because the pickup itself a tad further away from the string underneath that cover. So just a slight gain increase on the amp, and you're all set!

@@Blacklight_Music And also, you'll want to make sure the potentiometers are tall enough, since the guitar is a bit of an archtop. Let me know if you have any other questions at all!

@@mostgoodstudios2305 excellent! I really appreciate your input on this. They seem to sound great! Good to know regarding the output volume. At this point anything beats the 909s.

@@mostgoodstudios2305 I genuinely appreciate your help and advice! Such a niche area of music/guitar and it’s hard to find info on this kind of thing. Any 500k pot recs for the proper height?

@@Blacklight_Music Absolutely! Yeah, there's not a ton of info out there on these types of instruments, so it's a lot of "gee I hope this works," hahaha. As far as potentiometer brand, CTS is great. I'm actually currently using 500k ones from Amazon by "Musiclily." They're actually super robust and turn very nicely. If you go that route, make sure to get the gold ones. Those are the most consistent ones. But otherwise, CTS is tops. As far as height, you miiiight be able to get by with 10mm threaded length, but I think that's pushing it with the arched top. I've got 18mm ones. They're a little tall, so you just need to put a spacer or two (also called lock-nuts) between the potentiometer and the inside of the control cavity. But I'd rather do that and have the bolt be tight enough, than use shorter ones where the bolt is barely on there, hahaha.
