Dude's killing that SCAR 17 by way over gassing it. And if that stock has a metal end plate, it will cant those screws in the aluminum receiver.
FYI... changing out to the kdg stock generally results in canted rear receiver screws and eventually a busted upper receiver. Current zeitgeist is that if you don't have a rear receiver plate that's polymer you're basically killing your gun, especially when shooting suppressed... double trouble if your suppressor isn't low backpressure and you aren't running a tuned gas jet and/or one of the two super adjustable gas regulators. FN makes a rear 1913 plate that works, and vltor makes a new "foot" for your ugg boot, but there isn't anything that works with the kdg acr stock... which is probably the reason kdg doesn't sell it anymore since it was killing ppl's guns.

@@jim3762 B&T stock is known to break and be fragile on B&T guns. Scar is more abusive. Its why I got an acr stock on my apc9 instead of their knock off.
its definitely not the reason why kdg stopped selling it. they stopped selling it because the tooling for the acr stock was not good anymore. If I'm not mistaken its Magpul who essentially stopped producing the acr stock so kdg didn't really have a choice anymore but to discontinue their scar adapters for this stock. your right though about the canted rear screws there's been instances already were people ran those stocks and since the adapter was metal something to do with the harmonics of the bcg slamming back on the metal kdg adapter was fucking up those screws and potentially the receiver. there's even been talks about that someone talked to engineers at fn and that was the reason why the scar ugg boot was polymer instead of having a metal adapter.
I’m glad I picked up a 716i instead of a 17s, what a dumpster fire. I’ve seen the memes about the harmonics killing RDSs and scopes but I had no idea it was that out of control. All because someone didn’t think to bring a blank fire adapter…

Brother Noir, you NEED a Mototech Engineering SCARburator Gen4 adjustable gas regulator. The SCAR is overgassed by a fair amount from the factory, and adding a silencer exacerbates the issue, especially if you aren't running a flow-through/low back pressure design. Also, the original polymer stock adapter is designed to soak up impact from the bolt carrier. By replacing the stock with the KDG ACR stock kit, you lose that, and the impact gets shifted into the little screws that attach everything to the rear of the receiver. Please do some research on the subject before your baby beats itself to death.
Yeah that Bcg is going to kill that gun even though the can can't trap that much gas you can tell its running way too hard.

I purchased my very first firearm about 20 (?) days ago since the date of this post? It's a SCAR 17S. I've wanted one of these ever since I saw them in an FN Catalogue at a military vendor expo in DC when they were fielding them for SF in 2005. I was obsessed with the P90 until I found the SCAR H. It's been a wild ride of range time ever since I got it. Purchasing this weapon has been beneficial for me in many ways.
So first I just want to say I love your channel!! I value your opinion a lot more than some of the other yahoos on RUclips!! I know you just kinda show case the guns your interested in but after seeing you Scar 17s and all the sweet tricking outs you don’t to it I’d like to see you do a side by side comparison with the scar and the POF 308 revolution! And also a review on the alchemy custom weaponry Quantico Carry. Now these are just requests and I know your busy creating your own content but there just isn’t a lot of videos out there on them. Keep up the good work!!!!

Do you bro. I appreciate the content and variety! I do think that if you're going to keep an LPVO on set to 4 or 6 x, then you'd be served better with a regular scope like a 2.5 to 10 instead. The whole point of an LPVO is to be a 1x with the ability to zoom to 4, 6, 8, or even 10. a 2.5 - 10 x with an offset red dot would place this in a DMR role better as that seems to be what you're aiming for.
My Scar setup is similar. I run the Leupold MK 6 1-6 also but with the older Leupold IMS mount. I really like the mark 6 lineup even though it’s old by today’s standards. The 3-18 is a great optic minus the spongy turrets but they still track very well, glass is top tier and the form factor is excellent. The 1-6 is the best of its generation w the exception of the reticle brightness that said I rarely run optics with the illumination on. I run a Scarburator gas plug which makes it run very smooth. My only issue w the scar is FN’s stupid warranty. I might not have gotten it if I’d have known the warranty is voided if you take off the muzzle brake.
One day I would enjoy disassembling and reassembling that right there 😮
The KDG MREX rails make it look even better, in my opinion.

I’ve been watching you since you started, albeit on and off as my life has changed throughout the years but my point is, I started watching as a broke 20 something and loved it and living through your experiences and now as a 35 year old who’s worked hard enough to be able to afford some of it, I really appreciate it from another aspect and having some real world perspective or even just ordering something and watching content on that said item until you get it in your hands. Nice setup. I did a SCAR17 build last year. I did a Timney trigger; the KDG extended rail; magpul grip and an ACOG. All peanut butter colors.
You need to get a buffered bolt carrier from Imperial Arms. It’ll make that recoil impulse smooth like butter.
Love the new look of your SCAR. Now get another crazy expensive gun like an MSG90 and make it pretty too.

I added the KDG extension to the forearm as well. It gave me a little more flexibility and real estate on the front of the rifle. It's one of my favorites in the safe.

I am surprised that YT is not taking down some of your videos on guns. Some others have had problems with the new gun policy 18-Jun implemented. However, the videos you present are very good and thanks.
They demonetize this and other guntuber channels though, and they've done that for a long time. It's why guntubers need to do patreon and similar viewer support conduits, and edit in sponsor ads within their vids. They try and make these guntuber channels as unprofitable as they can, trying to make the guntuber just give up, figuring all the work of quality content creation (and it is a lot of work and expense) isn't worth it.

Open emitter red dots on rifles suck when you get a rain drop on the emitter because you cant see the dot anymore. Happened to me with the same rifle and optic combo

Colion, you need the kit for your changing handle, otherwise your choice of upgrades makes sense. also, the new surefire pro series bodies have the mount built in and let the light swing down tight to your rail. check them out and see what I mean. get your surefire rep to hook you up with the newest products to refresh your SCAR & keep it current.
Best light setup = Cloud rein 3.0 head, Cloud legacy surefire body, Unity gas cap, Unity axon sl, Overbore SWVL mount. costs alot but hard to beat.
@@Nate-zm6bd the surefire turbo and pro body are a hard combo to beat, the smaller body makes the package much smaller and the built in 1913 mount is also smaller and tucks the light into the rail better. I run CD Rein 3.0 & legacy bodies myself but for what his SCAR is calling for I feel the surefire eco system would fit the bill nicely. his surefire POC needs to fix this issue. the new tape switch looks dope too.
@@Militaristics have you seen the SWVL mounts? it gets the light about as close as possible to the handguard. most my setups have the light touching the handguard. Tho I dont own a scar so couldnt say if it will help in this situation w/o looking closely.
@@Nate-zm6bd I have seen the swvl mount and i own a few surefire pro bodies. I'm not saying the swvl is a bad option just if you want a simple all in one solution the turbo in either full or mini size pro body is very hard to beat. it's got less failure points and less chance of tolerance stacking. the output is rite there at 100K candela give or take a few K. it's a very appealing package that I'm surprised he isn't running already.
Holding out for a Barrett M82A1
Very similar to my build. I didn't change the barrel length and I kept the UGG boot. I had the exact same stock but I feel like the Ugg boot changes the felt recoil impulse for the better.
I have a SCAR-17s. I chopped the barrel to 14" and run a Huxwrx suppressor on it along with a TA-11 ACOG. The gun FUCKS. It's my go to rifle. I love the thing so much.
Review a BG defense rifle. And see if it’s worth the price and where it stacks among other rifle in its price range

I did the kdg stock on mine too. Worried about the canted screw issue, I put on a qd mount on each side that beefs those two screws up. Got a mototech buffer pad also did a kns discarder. Waiting till I get a huxwrk 762 before I suppress. Should be gtg being flow through. Love the scar overall but for its price, it has a decent bit of flaws to it.

It’s crazy how close my scar is set up like yours rather than the grip I went for a finger index and I’m honestly afraid to suppress it I ended up building an mk18 for night fights
