Yay!! I love watching artist start playing dnd! These days I only draw my own dnd characters or somebody else’s so this was really fun to watch. Please post more about your dnd characters 🎉
Yes! Patience is definitely one of the key factors in making an amazing artwork. I feel as though I still need to work on that as an artist so I can better improve my art.
fantastic. I find that conceptual design like this, where you're playing around with ideas are some of the best and most inspiring things. they let you see the creativity, the rambling road to something awesome, rather than the overly streamlined path.
Awesome stuff, Really loving the way his shell extends into his helmet / armour. Very cool how you really sell the bright sunny environment with just a hint of sky/terrain.
@@eurns1407 Yeah, I definitely think it had the strongest silhouette out of the thumbnails you did, keen to see how you'll iterate on it as he develops and gets fully kitted out, lots of fun options !
Are you thinking of making tutorials? Are you thinking of selling them on artstation or gumroad? From start to finish, it's all about drawing and rendering characters
Really enjoyed this and the explanations. Amazing work! Will we see more videos? Also, I can't wait to see how this character may change in the future.
personally, the last design you did before you settled on your final one, the one holding the hammer, is my favorite. But I am partial to more bestial an monstrous character even among established canons. Part of the lure for me on that deign, is that he looked so painfully serious, that he reminded me of someone I used to see in the mirror all the time. A grump who don't entirely realize how comical his appearance is. His design was sharp an dangerous, feral, but I couldn't help but imagine a frying pan in his hands instead of a hammer. I understand it wasn't right for your character, but my imagination is always going. And I'd love to see more videos where you draw your characters.
Awesome video! I really love the design and how you explain yourself throughout the process. Your microphone is a little quiet tho I wish it was turned up a bit
Could you do a non speedpaint video where you go through your process fully without speeding up? It could be the simplest character or just a cube and a ball, I just would love to see your workflow, how many layers you use and how you use them etc. Love the character btw!
I absolutely love your design as well as the style, I took a break from art and getting back into it especially with digital art that I’m not comfortable with I’ve been thinking about taking some classes online for character design, anyone know any good design classes or if you any some??
I can see myself spending an hour or two trying to achieve just one of your 30 second sketches. Well done.
First 2 .then 1 hour and 30 . Then 1 hour . Then 30 minutes. Then 15. Then 10
from the thumbnail alone you can tell the guy knows his stuff. very intriguing design

Love the design! Excited to see were the design goes as your campaign progresses!
Based on how you guys interpreted the hero's journey, he's gonna have to lose a limb at least haha
@@eurns1407 Holy crap he loses his forearm and sticks his weapon in place of it! D:
I subscribed before I even started watching this video.. the style of the intro alone is beyond beautiful..

Great design. I enjoy creating characters for dnd.

thanks! designing always is a fun puzzle and integrating the helmet into the armour seemed like a fun way to push the silhouette!
