The only thing worse then the sychophantic, uber casual, Conor "fan" is the one who refuses to acknowledge the impact he's had on the sport. I'm no particular fan of Conor, nor do I view him as one of the greatest fighters in this sports history. However, I'm fully willing to give credit where it's due. Conor will undoubtedly be remembered as, quite possibly, the most polarizing figure in UFC history. He was able to captivate an audience that may have never associated itself with MMA. He's brought eyes to the sport, has attained a level of success once thought unattainable. You don't have to like the guy to appreciate his contributions. Sorry so long winded. Just rambling.
Hes probably the greatest featherweight of them all beat aldo when aldo was unbeaten and beat max Dustin to name a few ,hasn't been the same outside featherweight apart from Eddie at lightweight, he was a great featherweight who was better than him at featherweight?
I do agree with you, but unfortunately, he also became the man who started the transformation of UFC into something like WWE. Talking shit and selling fights is slowly becoming more important than being a great sportsman and a true champion.

This guy was, maybe still is, a master of at publicity for all the wrong reasons that publicity works. Great fighter, incredible athlete, all hard earned, but his actions clearly indicate he is a weasel in personal character. Another tragic proverb of a man who could not keep the money and fame from corrupting his character.
It really hurts to hear a fan, a true fan, wearing down an athlete. Specially if they were a source of inspiration, like he was for a lot of people. Hopefully he will be able to go back to his roots
