I noticed something interesting on the later home media releases. The boy’s line “Yeah! Frosty it is! Frosty the Snowman!” was re-recorded for the CBS airings. This print was used on all VHS releases and the Golden Books/Sony Wonder DVDs. Around 2010, the original recording of the line by June Foray was restored on home media releases and on Freeform as well as the NBC airings, the latter of which also mutes the “Christopher Columbus” line for some reason.
I remember watching this DVD a lot when I was like 5! It's honestly the only holiday special I grew up with and I don't know if I even happened to watch it around the holidays that much lol
The holiday special I would watch back when we still had either Dish Network or DirecTV was the Christmas in Pac Land episode of the old Pac-Man show that aired on Boomerang some ten or twenty years ago every December 25th. I just cannot believe that I did not even think to use Internet Archive to find out all of the old shows I used to watch back then.
I really liked your Rudolph home video comparison video, and I was wondering if you could create another one for Frosty the Snowman (its home video history is extremely similar to and aligned with Rudolph after all)
Honestly I imagine the best Home Video release depends on your thoughts on Frosty Returns (personally imo I like it so I'd probably imagine one of those is the best)
Since CBS aired the special for years Why couldn’t Paramount release the special on DVD since the special premiered on CBS Same thing goes with Rudolph

Omg! I'm not the only one who noticed that the Christopher Columbus line was removed on NBC!

Neat DVD Lane. Ever see Frosty’s Winter Wonderland and Frosty Returns?
Yes, I've seen both.
This was released on the tragedy 9/11/2001
I wish Lane would do the which is the best home media release of Frosty The Snowman.

Same thing goes with Rudolph
It's owned by NBC... or NBCU/DreamWorks Family International, to be specific.
@ I know but it was owned by CBS before 2024
This special came out the same year Sesame Street did
