This too was an adventure we had while there a few weeks ago as well. It was the best snorkeling we did while in Kauai. We got really lucky at the parking lot someone was pulling out when we arrived. We got to swim with turtles and sea fish. I was so thankful for the new ropes that made it a lot easier to get down to the beach.
Oh wow, you really lucked out on that one. It took us multiple tries to make this one happen. It’s an incredible place though. And the snorkeling was the best I’ve ever experienced off of a beach. I was blown away! Glad you got to experience it!
Yeah we also enjoyed Queens Bath… beautiful rocks and pools. And Tunnels was our second favorite…both beaches had some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever experienced!
So you can use your map app on your phone for directions to hideaways beach. It’s on the northern end of the Princeville area…on the road that takes you to the resort. When we were there…we accessed it by a small parking lot that held maybe 8-9 cars. Then just as the video shows you will follow the path past the fences and then down the steep stairs/trail. Technically speaking it’s closed…but it’s only for liability reasons…the owners label it as closed to avoid any issue of someone getting hurt. A local highly recommended it. Hope this helps!
Do you mean the walkway/stairs? Technically this beach is closed…but the locals that live in Hanalei said that it is solely a legal formality…the walkway/stairs is not safe and the landowners are better protected from lawsuits if they claim the trail as closed. Even though many people continue to visit it daily. Basically you can’t sue the landowners of the trail is closed…but it is encouraged by every local that we befriended in Hanalei and Princeville.
@@wyldebill4178 haha! Yes you couldn’t be more correct! 99% of the beaches are accessible…most of the owners are gracious enough to keep them open…to my knowledge this was just a legality. Don’t quote me on that…this is just what I was told by those that lived there.
Kauai is one of the most beautiful places on our planet. Thanks for bringing it to my Kentucky kitchen. Safe travels.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it! Kauai is such a special place!
Looks like a hidden paradise

Why is the ramp blocked off?

@@TheNotLostNomad just checking because I understand the best way to annoy locals is to trespass on private property
