I love 90s gimmick covers, I thought they were great, I never read chaos comics so I didn't know about them, I agree, they did it best. One from marvel you didn't have that I think is interesting is a new warriors cover where it's actually a photograph of a model dressed as namorita. Back then I think it was the first live person on the cover of a comic.

My favorite gimmick cover was Eclipso #1 which had a plastic gemstone embedded in the cover. I also really liked the Turok #1 cover, even though it wasn't crazily excessive by the standards of the day. I also remember some indie books that had actual bulletholes fired through them, and the interior art reflected the massive hole going through the book. Probably the best glow in the dark covers were the ones The Spectre had.

Tip for filming glow in the dark covers: remove them from their polybags. Polypropylene and polyethylene have some degree of UV protection, so they'll limit the absorption from your UV flashlight.

The last honorable mention comic cover from Chaos comics the Dead King, looks like Batman.
Also you've kinda missed Image comics the Shadowhawk #1 with the die-cut out black cover with aluminum silver inlet of the Shadowhawk character inside when you open the book. And Shadowhawk #2 A foldable cover of Shadowhawk mask by gently opening up the cover upright to unveil his mask to see who he is. And the Shadowhawk II aluminum embossed cover also, Shadowhawk #0 all white virgin cover of Shadowhawk crawling like pose on the cover. I used to have all those Shadowhawk comics in fact in truth Shadowhawk #1 was my first Image comic in the early '90's, then i ended up buying more of these issues. Jim Valentino's, work. One of the greats.
    Cool video.

I appreciated Shadowhawk's gimmicks back in the day because they weren't really done to increase sales, they were done because Jim Valentino was such a nerd who enjoyed exciting comics. Eventually people complained about the price and he compromised by still doing gimmick covers, but charging standard indie cover price.
