I am afraid that the cost of buying up all the properties now on the former trackbed would be extremely expensive, but as the road from York is so rubbish, perhaps it would make sense, from a practical point of view.
I received a message from my brother tonight with a link to this. I thought, yeah ok will have a look, it took a second or two to work out what was going on ...what can I say ...amazing!
I have 😊. Mum (who is 80) absolutely loves them. It so clever, there are some areas where you can see where the lines once were, but others you would have no idea.
This line should never have been shut. Nowadays the bloody A1079 is completely gridlocked. Stupid councils in the 60's / 70's completely cocked up big style.
This is amazing! Please could I mention though, that the area after Earswick and before Warthill is Huntington, not Huntingdon. Not intended as a criticism at all... but thought you might like to know.
really interesting! amazing how so many fields still retain their original shapes.
Really wish they would rebuild it

As ever, cutbacks then, regrets now.
That's how it turned out to be, and no turning it round, just fond memories of yesteryear.
