It’s not just your generation - I was born in the early 70’s - I remember having to have name brand trainers for school - we couldn’t afford them - my mum paid weekly out of a catalogue for them! I also grew up buying and accepting piles of stuff I didn’t need - I have gradually simplified my things to very little over the past 9 years - it’s so freeing - I wish I had done it much earlier because it means I need very little money to live on xx
I'm 37 too! I am British but I live in Australia now, do you remember growing up with those epic magazines "mizz" and "shout" "smash hits" I forget the rest but they were great😂 - those were the best times!
Possibly a result of the previous generation growing up with the "you can have it all" and "me first" attitude? Each generation, in an effort to make it better for their children, pass on certain beliefs and attitudes. It is important to remember that children learn what they live.
