Mr Dylan written an excellent song and Meat delivered an excellent performance. I remember when he was promoting the album this cover is from. Thought maybe this was his last album/final tour. He wanted Forever Young to be a message. And in the last ¼ of 2003, the new polished version was certainly outstanding, a grand slam! Five more albums would drop and several tours. And he may not have been excellent every night. His commitment to jam regardless you can't help but admire. Such a stellar band as well... rocking songs like Blind As A Bat.. Song of Madness.. just to name two of many.. after the huge success of I'd Lie For You and its album. Not to mention the mega success of Anything For Love. Shouldn't be important which singles had the most praise. Every time he recorded a song there is no question the song that which was played was played the most you could make out from the song. Chords, drumbeats, guitar scales and solos. Proud loud vocals with no gimmick. One truly great performer who never seen himself as a singer for forty plus years. In 1995 when he played an entire intimate and interactive set on Canada's Much Music he considered himself to be on his own island with music he played. I couldn't have said it better! He was probably the last of any rockers from the 1970's and 1980's to play on tv channel, much music. Jus one of his many feats in his rock career. After his appearance artists on the channel ranged from Our Laďy Peace, The offspring who were no means new acts.. but he would be celebrated with the same acclaim before moving onto other music ventures.
Yes Dylan did it,Kristofisson did it but this puts to shame the thought Meat loaf can't sing. Great outstanding vocals. Thanks for the upload!! brilliant
Lovely hearing someone cover the Dylan original, instead of Rod Stewart's version. Not that Rod didn't do something really cool with it, but Dylan is Dylan.
@docheunarunfunk Yeah, after I heard it I got the idea to do this. Always been a big meatloaf fan, and this just seemed to fit the film. Wish I had, had more time to make it, but I only spent maybe 2-3 hours making this.
UMMMM that's what we used to say when someone "did" it. It refers to having written, and or performed it. They are synonymous within the statement. Sorry, I learned my English in England, perhaps not the best place.
@@carolmorris404 Jim Steinman didn't write this song, "Forever Young." Bob Dylan wrote it. It is one of the best non-Steinman songs that Meat Loaf sang.

Booker T respected it so much he phoned Dylan during Alfie's recording session, held up the phone, so he could hear Alfie! High praise indeed, since Dylan actually wrote the song!!
RIP Big Man! Thanks for the music that has and will continue to mean so much to so many.
never ever be another Meat. RIP my friend.
Sorry to Dylan, and anyone else who did a cover of this, but Meat rules this song like no other. No other version even compares.
Thanks to his music, meat will be forever young. #ripmeatloaf

What beautiful song I loved
One of the Great Singers!!!!
It has been a pleasure growing up along side of you & your music... thank you for bringing us so much enjoyment at this hour as well 🙏🏻
It is a cover, so I guess it doesnt get the recognition it deserves, but this is a remarkable piece of work by Mr. Aday.
The author is Bob Dylan.

Omg stfu with the cringe xD
@@Fireglo they were just showing how this song relates to something their life. I thought that was allowed in music.
I heard this song for the first time on Sons of Anarchy covered by Audra Mae, I never knew Meatloaf covered it too! This is awesome!
Bob Dylan's the original, and the best in my opinion
now this is a hell of a cover by Meat, well done on your upload, it really is a wonderful video
Beautiful.... Thank You.
What a great song - what a great voice !
Yea it was written by Bob Dylan. Joan Baez and The Pretenders do excellent jobs too!=)

Rod Stewart didn't do a version of this so he did a different song with the same name

Mr Meatloaf I salute you sir, RIP fella.
really good!
"Dylan did it"?...I think that it is a slight understatement...Dylan WROTE it!
I interpret "young" as an attitude and not an age.
Totally agree
Beautiful
wow i just love what u have done would like 2 c more
@WarioLoaf3D Glad you enjoyed it:) Didn't spend much time on it, was mostly breaking in my new PC.
Gr8 song

Sorry to the previous comment, I love Meatloaf, but this song belongs to Joan Baez, hers is the quintessential version.

Why isn't this song on mobile?
You must pardon my ignorance. It was wrong of me to write that comment without even googling your language first.Thank you!
Is this song on a Meatloaf CD?
John Markusic it's in his "couldn't have said it better myself." Album.
Thanks
Good song.Thanks.
And after the long silence when the song finishes on the album you get a wee bonus
The voice is great, the music is better on Dylan's original version, because of the raw, deft touch of instruments.
Diana Ross' version is the absolute best.

He left out the loveliest parts of the melody. Much prefer Alfie Boe's version!

Interesting version. But not as good as Dylan's original. Seems to be making up his own tune.
