Such great insight and understanding of the flesh that still exists in us dispite being saved.
So many today in the Charasmatic movement try to bypass this teaching and go forward to receive power and anointing of the Holy Spirit to try and experience freedom. They shake and fall down and think it's God and think they are free!
The next day they find that the flesh is still there and get discouraged and disillusioned.
It's the word working effectually in us that changes us and not going through a "fire tunnel" !
Outstanding teaching from JJ and GA. Thankyou.

I disagree. I’m from Pentecostal circles and most teach the sinful nature is still present! If you want healing or answered prayer you better go deep and search, then repent. I don’t believe Paul was talking about himself as a redeemed man in chap 7. He just crucified the sinful nature in chap 6! Justin said that a unredeemed person would not talk like that in chap 7. True, but I think a Jewish Rabbi without Christ would. For me what attracted me to the Grace message and Paul’s Gospel was the finished work of Christ! So liberating! God Is Good!!

@davidme9698 Interesting. So you never sin, have a wrong thought, get angry, lie, get irritated with someone, think bad of someone, never feel proud etc etc? These things and more easily happen within us.
If we no longer have the sinful nature then where do these attitudes come from?
      They come from somewhere.
You will find even today an irritation with something and your reaction will not be according to your new nature!!

@@rickorider hi Rick we have been well trained! Not only was I a good student of sin. But I loved it! Many of my trained responses take time to unlearn. Paul teaches we are holy and righteous so we should live like that. That takes faith not telling God a lie that wow I sinned please forgive me I will never do that again, only to find myself doing it again at a different level less than a year later! Now when I find myself doing something stupid I thank God that his Son paid a horrific cost for that sin! And if the sin was against another person then I have to make it straight with the person. Something died on the cross; I like to believe it was my sinful nature. God is Good!

@davidme9698 Yes I tell myself if I'm tempted "that's mot who I am"!
When we understand who we are in Christ then to sin is not who we are!
      That's the victory we have!

I will explain it that way, like a beloved child of a loving Father I truly FEEL peace with God living quite RELAXED not under guilt but ALL GRACE even if I fail. Can't explain it otherwise. 🙏❤️

we are delivered from the condemnation of being under the law is what Romans 7 is about, not being under condemnation for sin, being under the law, deceives me and slays me, vs. 11. being under the law causes me to sin more, vs. 8 The war is in our mind vs. 23

The old man is crucified and dead, but the sin resides in our flesh. Romans 6:6
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”7For he that is dead is freed from sin. It is all about what we are thinking in our mind (our flesh)vs 23.

I've watched several of these. I hope I can find one that speaks to being Spirit filled. Focusing on only the knowledge and not the supernatural aspect of salvation and serving God is a mistake. It's like eating plain cheese sandwiches your whole life and not knowing how much better they are as a grilled cheese sandwich. A poor word picture of what I mean, but it works.

I disagree at the 10:40 mark - if you are born again, regenerated in Christ - your life WILL change.
