It's not "my" succes to overcome an addiction, or solve any conflict, or difficulties. This brings a lot of peace, no more guilt, blame, pride, worry or expectation to outcome. Makes sense what you say. It is precisely because it is your destiny to love his teaching and disagree on prédétermination, and also your destiny to think that his explanation of the doer and non-doership is unrivaled and Brillant!!!
Because cause and effect is a story in time, none if which can actually be proven in the present moment, which, in actual fact, is all we have. The stories of time are beautiful, but don't really have any substantial reality. They are imagination. Often many agree to them, making them seem solid and real, but they're not.
If there is no doer then what makes you do things? Thinking based on up to date conditioning? But without doership and attachment to outcomes why would any thinking arise which would makes us take any action whatsoever?
Maybe the thinking that arises is not what makes us take action. Plus why does the thinking arise? Who knows? It seems to have little to do with the actions that are taken, though. Both could be called cosmic events.
I’m always confused by how the thinking fits into non doership. If there is no doer and permanent happiness cannot be found in outcomes then thinking becomes irrelevant. But what about random thoughts? Weird stuff like songs getting stuck in my head or just random chatter it seems to continue even if there is no attachment to it. Is it expected to continue this way?
The first question you answred with the statement " If there is no doer the thinking is irelevant.." The teaching is pointing that there are two diferent kind of thinking, psihological and functional - practical, they are basical the same, just thinking, but in psihological thinking therenis a entity - identity wich percives thoughts as his own.Hope it helps..
Seems to me that one would need to see Roger as a doer in order to perceive him as a doer suggesting doing, which would be missing the point of the teaching itself
