so true. think this is a magpie nest the owls "borrowed" Dad did come to nest a bit later and helped chase them off, so he may have been doing that off cam as well while she was dealing with the one pesky one
it's reciprocal for them. the owls and the magpies both are notorious for grabbing chicks and i have seen adult magpies served up to owlets when they harass the nest too often :)
