    I think they're underestimating how little they asked Zappe to do in that game, he only threw 15 times and in some cruical situations (backed up at the end of regulation) they refused to let him throw just so they could get it into overtime.
    As a Pats fan I'm happy with how he played, but I think huge credit goes to the Oline, the Running Backs and the Coaching Staff for NE. They really committed to running the ball with Zappe in, which also opened up the play action on his TD. They tried to make it easy on him, let him make safe plays etc.

    As a Pats fan I really think they should have let Zappe sling it. Especially towards the end of the game and in OT. Seemed a lot like they were playing to tie rather than playing to win.

    Zappe was the QB i really wanted my raiders to pick up. Had this kid being the hidden geksmof QBs in this past draft. Once we found out belichick drafted this dude, already knew Zappe was going to be their future starting QB. Yall haven't seen what he's capable of.

      @@taylorackley9144 well I’m assuming you’re a football fan because you’re here so I have to assume that you watch football and then I’m gonna assume that you have two working eyes it doesn’t really take a rocket scientist to look at one guy and see ridiculously great arm talent and then look at another guy and see not so great arm talent and then you could look at a guy like Bailey Zappe and see that not only is his arm not great it’s really not on a NFL level I’m not saying I’m some mastermind scout although every scout that scouted him agrees with me so it’s not only me but everyone says this that was his knock coming out of college he does not have an NFL arm there’s places on the field that he cannot reach he cannot attack those parts of the field because he does not possess the arm to do it there’s really nobody else thats starting that has that issue even the most mediocre quarterbacks can make all the throws they might not make them like Patrick Mahomes but they can make them if you watch football or even played a little football again I’m not saying I was an NFL quarterback but I played football I’ve been watching it since I was a child I have two working eyes It’s not hard to see but forget me if you need an NFL scouts opinion go search out his various draft reports find me one scout that said he has an average NFL arm not even a good one just tell me a scout that said he had an average arm

      @@romeothompson9389 he has a fine arm. might even be better than Mac's arm, his release is just awful he needs to work on his mechanics, but he has the tools to be an NFL Quarterback, he's just not ready mentally

    I think they should make Hoyer an offensive coordinator, considering the knowledge he has from being a backup for all this time.
    It would be more money and work...then you'd have to depend on Zappe for 2nd.

    The thing is that Belichick really likes the kids talent much like he did Jimmy Garoppolo. Plus he's a little more mobile than Mack Jones. If he plays well while Jones is out, it has happened before.

    At what point does the media stop giving the patriots and belichick moral victories for games they consistently lose against actual good teams. Like we're three years post Brady in New England and the team and roster is at best average with the supposive "goat" coach.

      Many good coaches go through these slumps after losing their Star(s), (Look at Pop in San Antonio for another example).
      As a Pats fan if you're going to be critical of Belichick, be critical of Belichick the GM, not Belichick the Head Coach.

      @@Ffancrzy This isn't just a slump for Belichick, his record for the entirety of his career as a head coach without Brady is 72-83. 150 plus games is a very large sample size.

If you really think that Bill isn’t a great coach you’re an idiot, end of story. There’s a reason Brady always had a good O-line, and a top 10 defense and running game

      Who is STILL saying that?
      In previous years, it was fair to say that, because he could not throw to save his life, & relied on his legs.
      Now, however…he has proven he can accurately throw a football 🏈, so nobody can say he’s not a QB.
      That doesn’t mean you can dismiss all those years where it was fair to say that.
