So refreshing to have such a great host interviewing a veteran in a small, intimate setting, and allowing the guest to talk. Mr. Church was a phenomenal film made by gifted actors and a very fine director at the helm.
I can say that this is my favorite movie that Eddie Murphy did. I cried and have my moment to savor the feeling I had in this movie. He's great and he did a great job here. He' so down to earth and so much fun in this interview. Love you Eddie!
I wish the conversation with Eddie was more about Mr Church, and his thoughts on the movie . Maybe diving deeper into the storylines and scenes . Most of Eddie’s fans were already familiar with his acting , and comedic background.
Mike Killagreen yeap eddie Murphy is legend if he can play all characters from a old woman to a donkey and he still healthy u know he bad martin Lawrence did the sane thing but he had a nervous break down everybody cant be 8 different people because sum people have that gift and eddie Murphy had it
I so hope for a behind the scenes documentary on the filming of Harlem Nights...that was probably the most accomplished comedic case ever...no matter how you feel about the movie...the case and the legends... It was like the Dream team with Magic and Bird handing the reigns to MJ in that movie
Ha! At the moment....NO! lol but after I got home and thought about it. ..I believe he was trying to tell me not to worry about anything getting in my way. ... just keeping pushing forward like he did :)
Eddie just laid out how he wants to get on the stage...He has access to all the great minds in the business so I'm sure if he really wanted to do it it would be done, but man I would love to help craft that vision... How to package and tour with it...have strategic guest...I would do skits and sets...great undertaking...hope to see it.
I was really struck about what he said on being able to turn it on and off (32:50). That's not an easy task to do, in life. If it was somebody else saying this, I would have doubts. But Eddie Murphy seems to actually pull it off for real. At least in interviews, he seems to do that. I guess it relates to the part where he talks about not paying attention to what people say about him.
Eddie gives detailed explanation of why the movie appealed to him. Interviewer: “I’m sure”. Moves on.. Eddie Murphy: ??? did you hear anything I just said?
Every interview they ask him the same questions. I answer all his questions before he does. Come on, prepare... ask him NEW questions ffs. Pryor was his hero. He loves watching jail and Little Women... we know he started on The Gong Show bc his brother Charlie said he’d win $25 ... we know about SNL & his films. Ask more about his music... we don’t know much at all about that side of him.
"Mister Church " is in my opinion, the best role Eddie Murphy ever played. He should've actually gotten an Oscar for the role.

The most I've cried in long time during a film.

Loved this movie. It's right up there with "fried green tomatoes" & " tender mercies". Murphy was brilliant.
Really loved this movie.

I wonder what happened to his old laughing trademark when he did back in the Day

Great video the interviewer is FINE 🤤🤤🤤
Eddie is such a clown. He'll make you laugh !!
Eddie my favorite but this laugh he doing now .. Maybe I've never noticed it but the old known Eddie laugh is gone
He said he stopped because people didnt take him serious when that was his real laugh so he found a way not to laugh like that
