I would go with white for the shiplap. White is timeless and I think the dark color would make the room dark and gloomy. Also the bed is so pretty that it won't stand out against a dark wall. I would keep things light and airy since you live in Florida.
Alexandra, you never cease to amaze me. This is such an interesting project to watch. I think anything you decide to do will be great. I can’t wait to see it all put together!
I love the bed. I'm glad you left the wood. I got my daughter a bed from Craigslist when she was Forest's age. She's turning 17 and it's still in great shape. I don't have a suggestion for the paint, but you have great taste. Trust yourself.
If you paint the lower half darker, it will make the room look smaller. Make sure you use paint with Primer in it to paint the unstained wood. The trim above and below the panel should all match the paneling normally. If you want to use a darker color, I would use that on the dresser. Looks good!!😊
I think dark shiplap and also paint the baseboard dark too. I think it will look so great and relaxing in there with the moody vibes. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
I would paint the bottom half a darker blue in a matching hue to the gray so it’s complementary. In a shinier sheen. If you leave the baseboards white, it would look messy considering the crown moulding is colored to match the wall coloring. I would also paint the interior doors to the shiplap color/baseboards.
Getting to do the first "big kid" room is always so much fun!! My first grandbaby will be 4 months old on the 11th and although she doesn't sleep in the nursery yet, we've been making it over for when she does and it has been SOOO much fun!! I've always had an eye and an interest in interior decorating, so they've given me the honor to take part in a lot of the ideas for her nursery and I've had a blast with it. So far they've taken my ideas for wallpaper for the accent wall (the accent wall was my idea too), the chandelier, the toy box and the wall and trim paint colors. We're almost done, aside from some finishing touches and I can't wait. ❤❤
I would paint the shiplap a darker color. It will ground the room. If you have to leave the baseboard white, to keep Chad happy. I would paint the trim on top of the shiplap white too.
I would just choose the exact inspiration I like that works with what furniture you already have and do something very similar, that way you can visualize the feel you want for the room before you start the finishing touches.
dark shiplap. You can keep baseboards white for Chad because the shutters and doors are white. Painting the dresser in a plaid would be super cute and manly.
The inspiration photo is so adorable--I think you're on the right track.🖤 I can't advise on trim molding, baseboards, etc.; that's a decision I always struggle over. LOL! Based on all the pictures you shared, I think you could go either way and it will look nice.
I would go a darker shade of the wall color on the shiplap. Yes, paint the base boards if you paint the shiplap. Love the bed!! It’s going to be so cute!
Your transformation vids are my favorite ❤ I'd lose all the white and consider changing the shutters out for a Roman shade. Can't wait to see the reveal and am enjoying the process!! Forrest is going to love it!
Maybe pick the map first. Easier to match paint to it than the other way around. Definitely paint the ship-lap both boards. Try to match mirror or something the same as the bed. My brain exploded with your questions. You are so fun!
Love the changes you have already made. The bed I'm in love with the bed. So glad you didn't paint the bed. It's beautiful the way it is.. As for the ship lap personally either would look great . We know how Chad feels about it . What does Forrest think? Girl you know we are going to love the complete makeover.
DARK SHIPLAP. It would be interesting to invoke some green here. Of course, it also needs to stay within your overall color story. You painted the ceiling trim, so white trim by the floor no longer makes sense. COLOR DRENCH DAT BEDROOM! I love that people are embracing color again (though *you always have!) For those who might not know, the "IKEA tool", is an Allen wrench, also known as a "hex key", due to its shape. They come in many sizes, sadly, but are always that same shape ~
Alexandra Thank you for always making such a wonderful wonderful Vlogs for us and I am always always happy to see your vlogs May God Bless You Always Always💖💖🥹🥹
The lower half, shiplap included, in a rich blue, just like his helicopter light above... just so that everything goes well together, especially since the frame of the bed makes a huge contrast with the rest of the room, color wise. Also, I would opt for a tone of blue for the lower half of the walls because it's a cold color and the higher half is also that cold gray. Hope it makes sense what I'm saying. 😅
I personally think it would look cool if you painted the Shiplap the same color as the wall, but in alternating stripes. And then the wooden trim piece painted the same wall color too. If you paint the entire thing a darker color, I think it’ll make the room feel too dark whereas keeping the wall color coming down but with bits of white will make it feel fresher but consistent. Idk if that made any sense😂
GUYS! My first ever thrifted room makeover! Decorate with me and transform this bedroom on a budget!
Love it! The grey color is perfect for little man!! The thrifting makeover came out so good!!
I would go with white for the shiplap. White is timeless and I think the dark color would make the room dark and gloomy. Also the bed is so pretty that it won't stand out against a dark wall. I would keep things light and airy since you live in Florida.
In my opinion, dark for the shiplap and the same dark color for the baseboards. It's looking good!
Thank you! I'm excited to see what it looks like when it's all finished.
Love the wood bed frame. There is nothing like molding in a room to add richness and interest. The room has transformed to a classic look.
Dark colors will make the room smaller and closed in
I love your shiplap white!!! Tht bed is so beautiful!!! So far, Forrest room looks greT and will grow with him !!!
I think you should ask Forrest! It’s his room he can choose how he likes it
Dark shiplap for sure!! Incl the base molding to match!! Bed is amazing! Can’t wait for part 2!!❤
A darker blue would look great! What a fun makeover!
I would do dark for the shiplap and baseboard, it’s looking really good so far!
I love it! Can't wait to see the end result!🥰
Hey bestie😊 you did a great job so far ...I pick dark blue shiplap, light color dresser or green dresser wooden knobs🤗
Dark for sure and dark baseboard to match! Love the room inspo and can’t wait to see the dresser project. 👏
Alexandra, you never cease to amaze me. This is such an interesting project to watch. I think anything you decide to do will be great. I can’t wait to see it all put together!
room is looking great, and light color for the shiplap is my vote lol
I am a blue girly through and through but I think a dark green would be so cool!

Darker for sure! Will look great
Definitely darker for the paneling!
Dark green would look really good.
I would go dark green or blue and all the way down to the base board.
Thank you!!
Omg thank you for the tip with textured walls! 🥹
You're so welcome! 😊
Can you move the bookshelves to the closet and make like a built in closet work without the pricetag

I like the dark for his room. Can’t decide on the blue or green. It is going to be a wonderful room for him . Love the map picture. 💙💙💙💙💙💙
I like white Shiplap. I think that makes the room pop

Go dark. It's only paint. You can change it back. Go for it.
I would paint the shiplap a darker color. It will ground the room. If you have to leave the baseboard white, to keep Chad happy. I would paint the trim on top of the shiplap white too.

I vote dark blue shiplap & a lighter/medium gingham painted dresser!
Shelves, dresser, and nightstand are great! How about a desk? He has a playroom. Toy chest too much maybe?
The inspiration photo is so adorable--I think you're on the right track.🖤

Awesome video!! This is so fun! I love room makeovers on a budget!! Great job so far!! ❤😊
I would go a darker shade of the wall color on the shiplap. Yes, paint the base boards if you paint the shiplap. Love the bed!! It’s going to be so cute!
Love the bed, such a good find! Definitely go dark for the shiplap and baseboards. It’ll look soo good with the bed and map.
Go dark on the shiplap wall and pain base boards same color. It will be moody and monochromatic. It will look so good.
Your transformation vids are my favorite ❤ I'd lose all the white and consider changing the shutters out for a Roman shade. Can't wait to see the reveal and am enjoying the process!! Forrest is going to love it!
I feel like you should do the ceiling and the shiplap a darker color!
I say dark blue and all the way to the bottom since in my opinion that color goes better with the grey walls! I love how it’s looking so far
I think the shiplap would look good in a mossy green ❤
Looking good!!!! I think paint the shiplap dark!! I say leave the baseboards white! Good luck! Can’t wait to see the outcome!!
Girl, the way I get so excited when you post! ❤🎉🙌
Your channel is amazing
Thank you so much! 💖
Looks great!

i like the shiplap darker
That bed is everything, and for $75?!?!?! I love the inspiration pictures…it’s going to look great and I’m so excited for part two!!!!!
Excellent job, THANK YOU!!
You're so welcome! 😊 thank you!!
Shiplap to stay white to keep the room looking spacious.

Dark and yes, dark baseboards.

Looks good
The walls look green to me. I would do dark green. Your call 👧 😊
Dark shiplap- team 😂
Same color as wall, but in a different sheen paint.
Oooh interesting!!
❤❤ love it
Thank you ☺️☺️
Dark green shiplap!
Dark chiplap and dark base board!
I feel like you should definitely do a dark Shiplap, maybe a dark blue or navy?? Also girl what lip gloss do you use? It looks amazing!
Does your son need a desk or does he do learning activities elsewhere in your home ?
Love your videos ❤

Darker green 🤩 do not paint floor board it’ll tie in any other whites and odd color within the room to tie is all in
I think the shiplap, boards above the shiplap and baseboards should be darker!
Dark green and blue would look amazing in this room! How would you balance out the white shutters?
I think it should be dark since the bed is dark!
A dark “forest” green
Dark blue would look awesome!! Would the baseboard look bad if u keep it white? Maybe I missed it but molding would look good on the ceiling as well
I'd stay with white so then your focal point is the background of his bedroom and his bed
Soooo mature for a 5 year old, great for a teen
Yes 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Shiplap white!
Can you share a link to the faux crown molding? I’m also a trim fanatic lol
❤️👏🏼
Hi. What type of crown molding is that and from where
💜💜💜

Keep it white!
it should be dark
