  • Cerebral palsy (CP) symptoms include problems with muscle tone, movement, balance or coordination. In some infants, problems are evident soon after birth. In others, diagnosis comes in later infancy or toddlerhood. Learn more: www.gillettechildrens.org/con...
“In infants who are developing typically, we often see symmetric use of the arms and the legs,” says Marcie Ward, MD, a pediatric rehabilitation medicine physician at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. “That’s what we would typically expect to see. In a child who may be exhibiting signs or symptoms of cerebral palsy, may show us asymmetry in their arm movements, in their hand movements, or in their leg movements.”
Cerebral palsy symptoms in babies might include: stiff limbs or low muscle tone; inability to use one side of the body; or asymmetry (when one side of the body moves differently than the other side).
As a child grows, he or she might show additional symptoms of cerebral palsy such as: inability to hold up her head on her own; inability to sit on his own; difficulty holding and using objects; clumsiness and frequent falling; losing previously acquired skills; or toe walking.
Tim Feyma, MD, is a pediatric neurologist at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. It’s important to see a team for the diagnosis of CP because lots of things can look like CP but aren’t CP,” says Feyma. “It’s very important to make sure that we’ve settled what the diagnosis is.”
“There are many reasons for children to exhibit delays in their development,” says Ward. “It’s important for them to get in with their primary care provider, to have those motor delays investigated. And if the primary care provider feels that it’s appropriate, then to refer to a center that can take a really good look at their child and give them some advice on how to move forward.”
“The most common concern we hear in the Motor Delay Clinic is parents realize that there is something that’s not right,” says Feyma. “They need to make sense of that so we can begin to help the child. At the end of the day, talk about diagnosis, at the end of the day parents just want to know what’s next and where do we go from here.”

Cerebral palsy is a misnomer. It is not because the brain is not firing correctly.
It is the meninges (head to tail bone) restricting certain nerves and muscles. Find a chiropractor who can along with the bone structure and stretch limits, move the muscles and nerves to be free of the pinch and restrictions imposed by the spinal cord (the strongest muscle in the body). There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with brain firing and coordination. It is the restriction that the patient is struggling to be free. 🎉🎉🎉
Doctors will dismiss this and many will laugh at it. But again, nothing wrong with the brain. Cerebral palsy is a misnomer. 🎉🎉🎉
(Adults can avail of the ring dinger😂😂😂).
Good diet, of course. But no amount of chemical pills or injections can correct CP. It is not a brain or chemical problem. It is simply a restriction problem along the meninges/spinal cord.
(A suggestion would be to exercise the child like a gymnast in the attempt to release the pinch nerves and muscles ... it will take time🙏)

So glad you are doing so great, we got the news today that one of our twin grandsons, they suspect has CP. Though it may be mild, he was born premature but was 2 lbs. smaller than his brother who was 7.5 lbs, Lincoln was 5.5. He was very tiny. He sits well, uses his hands well, he crawled late so it is possible since he was so small that he may have been conceived up to a month or two later than Grant, the bigger twin so they are not identical. He is cruising around furniture and walks with support at his hips. The doctors think he may need hip surgery. He does have low muscle tone. He has eye glasses and has not begun to talk. So there are definitely some delays.
Your comment was very uplifting. I’m glad you are doing so well.

Growing up mom raised me like any other kid. I recommend exercise if one side is underdeveloped like in my case exercise the weekend side so the other does not overcompensate. For the past 14 years I have learned all I could about my body I am into yoga meditation and have done work with a nuro muscular massage therapist for pain management. I study and listen to my body connecting emotions to sensations in my body I am a spiritual person love sound baths they help with the bodies chakras and meridian system aligning the energy body with the physical body. Each person is different so let him or her do what they are intuitively drawn too teach them to be guided by there intuition. Hope this helps who reads this love light to all

Also try to teach them the best as you can and don’t make them do any sports that can hurt them really bad and get them in physical therapy as quick as you can but not immediately and search up when you should start physical therapy in Google Firefox ect. Hope that helped

Depending on the severity you will need to get it exercise. For me with a mild case it was physical therapy and swimming in the local pool. Also your child will need to be in special Education classes probably when they get into school age. It will be a lot of work and a LOT of money. You will want to have a job with good insurance if possible.
The more things you can do while they are young the better the possible outcome. IF it is MILD CP then the child could grow up to live a very normal life if you do your part when they are young and growing. If it is more severe of a case still work hard but they will probably always need some type of help.
*Please* No matter what happens don't complain about bills in front of your kid. They will only feel guilty and blame themselves.
Last just go with it. Don't look far in the future you will drive yourself nuts. The doctors told my parents I would never walk without braces. (I only need generic in shoe insoles) I have mild CP so don't think this is possible for your case. But don't believe everything they say they are only humans. Don't give up!
