- Freo Dockers lost a close game against Port Adelaide, after losing a close game against Carlton. Here are my thoughts...

Yesterday we lost fairly port and Freo both had bad calls but when we played Carlton obviously we were absolutely robbed we are a 4-1 team in my eyes and as heartbreaking as last night was im proud of Freo sticking up to a good team at their home ground. We’re too inconsistent, we went from starting games bad (Brisbane, North and Adelaide game) to starting well but ending bad (Carlton and Port game). One last theory is that Taberner needs to go when Darcy comes back in, he can’t win a one on one for shit.
Totally agree with you about Cooper Simpson.
hate to say it but schultz would of been great for our side these past 2 weeks. need chapman to replace hughes, need cox to replace taberner.
also hate to mention it but erasmus caused some huge mistakes when he came on, just a bit of inexperience. once sean darcy is back hopefully jackson can be our key target going into fwd 50.

Obviously, we need to fix the forward line. Tabs I'm looking at you. However, I would applaud Alex Pearce and Luke Ryan's defense. I honestly thought JL subbed the wrong person off. I thought Johnson would be the right call.
Surprised u didnt mentioned banfield, he was ok on the night but u cant be a forward that kicks 2 out on fulls when the game is on the line. He is very inconsistent and we just cant afford that right now. We need to find some forward fire power and fast like a izak rankine or eddie betts or hayden balantyne
Everyone is quick to bag Banners but let's not forget Johnson had a shot from 30 out that he butchered out on the full. I think we'll be a lot more formidable with Darcy in Tabs out (hopefully forever) and Jackson back forward
@@andrewsmith9834 we were missing minaro in the forward line. We missed him last week and missed him in the last qtr of the carlton game when he got injured. Didn't have that goal kicking skill

He's good set shot but cannot mark to save his life. He doesn't even look like he wants to play. He went from kicking 7 on Essendon in 2022 to this. We have him a chance enough is enough

Two weeks on the trot, no rest at home with their family’s . The Dockers are basically FIFO workers, that pulled a double swing and still put up a very promising performance(except the few players you mentioned). We can’t be to unhappy with that haha. Doubt we will get a good word in from the media.
There were lots of free kicks missed for both sides. Tbh its probably been one of the most fair games this season. Umpires weren't one sided but then again neither team is from Victoria

My results are off the charts
Outs: Hughes, Taberner, O’Meara
Ins: Chapman, Darcy, Simpson
I like Hughes, good bloke, usually fairly consistent, just has a moment of two every game where he gives up a goal. Can’t be having that when a goal is so impactful. Taberner just doesn’t work. O’Meara is not strong enough or fast enough to do much, can’t kick goals. Banfield kicked a few Outs in the last quarter.
Frederick out of the forward line was a bigger lose then I thought

Our bottom 4 or 5 players simply aren't up to it. Unfortunately most of them are forwards
So sick of people saying Jackson and Darcy can’t work together. It’s based on absolutely nothing. You drop Taberner for Darcy and Freo are a wayyy better team. Darcy can rest forward a little bit too and he will take marks

@@jlrob85 it works when one is also an effective forward like Jackson and the other is also effective when resting forward. Like when Jackson and Gawn played together. Melbourne didn’t want to get rid of Jackson, he was an expensive trade

Another loss you should have won (maybe) but remember you are going down to the wire with top teams predicted to be top four or to make the GF and you’re playing them away from home. Both games were coin tosses but still should be confident you’re a top 4 team now
