Finally got this song preformed for us in Nola I think for VooDoo after Katrina and we just got it when they came last at the Saenger Theatre. All 3 shows they just did was just what we needed. Thank you NiN.
So happy they finally played this live, thanks for this upload! I really wanna see their footage that they filmed on the stage... Trent always puts out great live footage from on stage. I wonder what camera he’s using this time... I think it was a Canon 5D like 8... maybe 10 years ago..
I just looked up some of the videos, and I was right... it was a Canon 5D Mark II, and it was like 9.5years ago... time sure flies... here’s one of those videos ruclips.net/video/1SaFRqFnRQQ/видео.html
On April 6, 2005, while presenting the late-night BBC Radio 1 Rock Show in the UK, Trent Reznor responded to the question, "Which piece of your own work are you least satisfied with and why?" by saying: "The only thing I think I really don't like that much is "The Perfect Drug" song. It was one of those things where you have a week to do a track for a movie, the mindset that you kind of adapt in that situation, or I did, was 'let's go in and experiment and see what happens, and it's not, y'know, whatever comes out of it, it's not the end of the world'. And I think what came out of it, married with a bloated, over-budget video, feels like ... the least thing that I would play to somebody if they said play me, y'know, the top hundred songs you've written, that probably wouldn't be in the top hundred. I'm not cringing about it, but it's not my favorite piece."[4] From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Perfect_Drug
Oh shit, we've all been waiting 20 odd years to hear this and it fucking delivered! Thanks to uploader and tapers :)
the drummer is a goddam rockstar. holy fuck that was an amazing performance!
well it reasonably took him 20 years to actually be able to play this song live
@@djstonedisland6344 lol the drummer wasn't even with NIN when this song was written
Hes p[laying with a lot of loops in the bg.
We have witnessed "peak snare drum"
I am so glad I got to see this. Totally cried, because you know I knew it was the first time. EVER

I am surprised after all these years the band hadn't played this song live, makes sense though since i haven't seen any other versions live.

Sorry but I had to laugh when I saw Robin playing a mandolin.

You own the perfect rug, the perfect rug, the perfect rug!
I will never understand the presence of Atticus on stage
Pretty sure I've heard this live before?!?

I see why they never played it before.... it doesn’t translate well live
For me, seeing it live was the only time I liked the song. Live sounded incredible, especially the drums. Still don't care for the chorus.
