i like when the voice sounds clear. That's why I'm in love with the Roberth Smith version. i like this version too, but I can't listen her voice too much (Well... Some parts of the song sounds good but some parts just... Disappear)

that's the reason I DON'T like the robert smith recording. it kills the drama that the original works so hard to accumulate. the final drop in this version is much more powerful having seen the restraint in the previous choruses.
This is the superior recording. I love The Cure dearly, but Smith's vocal and the pitch shift ruin it. In addition, the alteration of the chorus with the full instrumentation on every instance, rather than just the last, is a HUGE problem for me--it destroys the increasing atmosphere by introducing unnecessary drama. This is haunting, gaunt, empty. It is how this song should feel.
