Mmmmm I remember having this type of candy in China - I miss it so much! I'm glad that they have it in so many different places, though I daresay that the marketing skills these guys have is probably the best that I've seen so far.
I could listen to him talk all day. XD; He's got such a pretty voice, somehow. I bet he can sing really well. I would really love to have one of those cookie-candies now.
He started with a small oval of honey, and he's stretching it into strings. Everytime he stretches and twists he double the amount of strings, and he's saying the number of strings in 3 languages! Sweet and delicious honey strings.
OH MY GOD!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. I had this once 10 years ago at a rural market in Korea and I have always wondered what it was called, and I've been dreaming about it for a decade! Now I know what it's called so I can look for it the next time I visit.
haha he's so into what he's doing and telling you exactly what he's doing while he does it! XD I understood his Japanese more than anything. That's amazing.
Dragon Beard! I love those, it's usually done mainly by older chefs over here (I only seen middle age ones so far). This guy is awesome cause the biggest problem is that its super hard to count in a second language, let alone two others.
omg! he could not be any cuter. "16 thousand strings WOW!" just him talking made me laugh, not even sure exactly what he was saying the whole time. haha he is sooo adorable!
Simon and Martina!!! I've ben binge watching some old videos and this video has some Japanese in it.. I'm guessing you guys didn't know what it meant before but now that you guys are officially 日本人 do you guys understand what he's saying?😁😁🤗

On wikipedia(sorry I know it's sometimes an unreliable source) it says that this is an inherited trade so maybe this is just to lengthen a family trade.
wooow.. he's awesome... and he changes so easily from korean to japanese to english hahaha i'm still confused hahaha XD .. it's really fine too that he explain to you how it's done hehe ^^
LOL I saw them at Insadong when I went too! When my friends and I were passing they were like "Come here! If you buy these from us, you'll get a boyfriend!" They're quite the clowns.
He was counting as he twisted the strings, first he had one then he folded and got 2 then folded and got 4 then folded and got 8 and so forth. Plus it was a steady beat to work to.
jup and if you listen well he jumps all the time over from japanese to korean to english he say's a part of the story and goes on to the next language and goes on and on like that until he said what he wanted to say and then repeats the whole thing again from what I think to hear :D
Was he singing a cookie making song or was he actually explaining step by step what he was doing? It sounded like a song but I felt like I was hearing random english words every now and again so I'm really confused.
sacredsiren I know some Japanese as well and it was kinda funny to me cause his Japanese was pretty spot on and his English pronunciation was really hard to understand so It was actually easier to understand him talking in Japanese than English.
We have that here too but normal people eat it cause we like it lol!! I don't eat it anymore though. I start to puke badly when I eat nuts T_T but I could still remember the taste though.
Is speaking 3 different languages the qualification of this job or what? I saw other Korean guy selling this candy who spoke some Germany, Korean and English!
This man is a language ninja. SOMEONE GIVE HIM A MEDAL OF BADASSERY. NOW.
It's super cool how he's just switching back through the languages. owo

On wikipedia(sorry I know it's sometimes an unreliable source) it says that this is an inherited trade so maybe this is just to lengthen a family trade.

If I were to ever go to Korea , I would go broke the first week I would be there
For some reason his voice reminded me of Super Junior's Leeteuk! I don't know why, but it just did.
jup and if you listen well he jumps all the time over from japanese to korean to english he say's a part of the story and goes on to the next language and goes on and on like that until he said what he wanted to say and then repeats the whole thing again from what I think to hear :D

The story goes, this was created as the kings desert after banquets. I like them best frozen
Technically, it's not 16000+ strings, it's one string wrapped around his hand 16000+ times.
So many languages!!!
