Oh boy, this level was one hell of a journey to make.
It all started when i kept procrastinating with hologram, so i decided to make a new level for the WHErwin cc. I wanted to use a chill song that was still a bit intense, so i chose this song as it reflected the idea i had perfectly.
The layout was built in only 3 days wich im quite suprised by since the gameplay is actually really fun in my opinion. Every single part has its own gimmick, the first part uses no spikes, the second part has these blocks that only kill one of the players, the third one changes gravity to the beat, the fourth one is this weird complicated dual followed with a simple maze and the last part has these spikes in the background that actually kill you. i was inspired by many levels such as crossroads by mbed, sunset by jeyzor, chancla by heatherhayes and many more. So much work was put behind making the level as good to play as possible and i was rushing super hard to finish level in time. i gave myself a deadline of before january 1st 2024 so i had 2 weeks to verify the level, wich would be enough time if i grinded the level often. The first part was built rather quickly but i took a break as i had just finished ice map at the time. a couple weeks later, 2.2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2.2 was a big motivation boost for me and so i started the second part, using the gradient trigger for the background. I wanted the level to stay in my style, not trying to put as much 2.2 elements into the level as possible, i wanted the level to remain the way it was meant to be from the start. I never had a theme in mind for the level, it was always simply an abstract level, just me putting the thoughts in my mind into a level, as you can tell from the level turning from a weird flower garden to a city in the span of a singular part.
Building this level made me less stressed about my level having to have a particular theme and style, i was just thinking about the song and what it made think of, for example, the dual wave for some reason reminded me of a picasso painting, weirdly disorganized yet you can tell what its meant to represent. This level was very fun to build and limiting myself to only using player colors really tested my creativity, every part felt like its own unique challenge, testing my inner mind and my capability to polish up every single detail. Originaly, this was an insane demon, but if i wanted to upload this, i'd have to verify it, and verifying an insane demon would imply beating a new hardest. Beating a new hardest was too much for me, i had already done everything, i simply needed to beat it. I attempted to do it in its unnerfed state but only got to 50%, so i decided to nerf it down to easy-medium demon difficulty, I think it is much more enjoyable that way. I am very proud of myself for pulling trought with building this level and i want to thank WHErwin for hosting this creator contest and making me better at using my editor skills to represent my thoughts and feelings in the editor.
