I think with this new rotating tool you are creating the next generation of tools for the proxxon... first the generation that uses the slide/rail, but these free hand ones are even a way better idea! it is really exiting to see what new stuff you can come up with your way of thinking!!!
I wholeheartedly recommend! Not only the tool but just Shiftinglands in general. I've ordered this jig and it came faulty. 2 pieces (the thick "cores" of the rotating parts, the ones that keep the foam in place) were a bit skewed, but to the point where it would not hold the foam straight and the resulting pillars would have a bit of a twist. So I asked support if they can send me replacements for those single pieces. Not only did they send me the whole new jig free of any sort of charge, they also included a promo item of that month and another product as an apology! These guys are pure gold and deserve all the love! 🧡
The ingenuity of your tools is one of a kind the hobby. You outdid yourself on this one with just how many possibilities this one opens. Please continue your great work, you truly are an inspiration^^
I'm curious if you use a heavier wire than what comes with the Proxxon table? It sounds like the wire drags on the wood template and could snap the wire. Thx! Great tool!
Hey, try to use candle wax to make it slide better 😉 There was also something else suggested, but I can't remember what it was. Candle works just fine though
OMG to jest niemożliwe !!! Każdy twój film jest ciekawy i niesamowicie interesujące w nich są te budowle 😮 . Jednak to jest nie do wykonania jeśli niemam dodatków narzędzi
@@alexsalvador3108 good question, know that you always need to apply some pressure with the template towards the wire. While doing so the wire will be forced out of its vertical position. Regardless on how much or little pressure you apply the wire always will bend a little so this means the cut at the bottom will not be the same as the top.
Any tips for getting smooth cuts when dragging the nichrome wire against MDF jigs? I've smoothed and sanded them, and in some cases even waxed the edges, and even on low heat I have trouble getting smooth cuts whenever the wire needs to be against mdf
When the edges are smoot (even sanded as you did, then there should be no trouble getting smooth cuts. You might do a few test cuts to get the hang of it. I hope you wil succeed.
Just ordered mine it will be here Friday, can't wait to try it out. Will the texture rollers be available to order in the US soon? (your newest ones) All your great jigs are gonna make me go broke.
@@Shiftinglands random question to pick your brain. How would you make a bowl from foam? I have the dome jig, but I also want to scoop out the dome to make small bowls of fire.
Hi Gerard, I think my comment disappeared. Let's try again. :) I love your videos and have been binge watching all of them! Getting into the hobby myself now too and was wondering what material you advise? I am able to get Styrodur 3000 4000 500 CS /SQ ? Which would you advise? And which thickness would be most ideal to work with, maximum that fits under the Proxxon?
Ho Chris, Styrodur CS 3000 is fine! I like 8 cm thick sheets the most (I can cut whole level of buildings out of a block that high). Also cutting cilinders this thick can speed up a possible round tower build. Max height is roughly 14 cm.
I don't build dioramas and have no use for this jig, but watched the whole video just to admire your genius. Very smart tool.
Yes, you are advertising your own products, lol.
I love the content, please post more,

Working on some new tools already😎😎😎

You’re a magician. Before watching I had no idea how you’d do it. So cool. I guess I’ll have to add this to my wish list.
Out-friggin'-standing!

Mind blown. Awesome.
Aaaand to the shop cart it goes! :)
Great jig! Very cool for making pillars, half pillars, balcony posts, real sized weapon handles...
I got my Pro 2.0 today and a template was included. Very happy with my new tool and looking forward to using it.
Thanks Gerard, all the best, Any.
Amazing, very smart tool. Always improving, engineering. Thank you very much for this.
That is so inventive and creative! You never cease to amaze me with these incredible jigs!! There are no limits for you.
These pillars are amazing! I’ll have to get one of the jigs as soon as the #5 tools are in stock in the US!

No I use the original wire, and yes you could slightly sand the edge of the template or wax it a bit but I rarely have issues with tracing templates.

Thats a neat tool. Do you publish / sell the files for a lasercutter or only sell the whole tool as such?
I wonder if the second identical template is necesary, as long as you slide against the table shouldn't the upper template mantain the shape?

there's no template for classic columns 😢
amazing to bad you do not have that for 1/12 scale
Not sure if the XL version in the shop suit your size. Please check that out in the XL section.
Where do you source your foam? The only thing I can find here in the states is the purple insulation foam and it only comes in one thickness
I know that options in the US are limited.
I do know that Black Magic Craft sells better foam in his store. Maybe that could be an option?

lol!
Oh no, Gerard is foam alone!
Has it always been there though and I just noticed it? If so, it is kind of embarassing xD
Is this sold in the US? I checked the site and didnt see it.
please look in the template section, there you can find it.

Do some 1/12 scale stuff for marvel legends

you forgot the five sided ring. And there is no four sided ring but you can use the 8 sided and use any second hole
