Headcanon I guess: miles never really allowed himself to grieve deeply for his father because he was convinced that it was his fault he was dead. He missed him sure, but that was also accompanied by fear and guilt. Once he finally learned the truth about DL6 he let himself process his grief and that trauma. That 15 year anniversary was also the first time he went to see his father since the funeral

This is absolutely incredible. You capture emotions perfectly and even though they’re devastating they’re also beautiful? In a weird way? Miles Edgeworth really didn’t deserve what happened to him. His father didn’t just die, but he thought he killed him, was taken by his father’s actual murderer, and was separated by what seemed to be his first friends. Man this got me choked up. Gregory seemed like such a good dad from what little we see of him. I also like Phoenix coming to support him near the end and in a way help him move on. Giving him a chance to grieve in a healthier way without being bogged down by thoughts about how might have killed his father. Also how Phoenix’s entrance relates to the lyrics? Phoenix in a way did save his life by reaching out and helping him during Turnabout Goodbyes. Man I could talk about their dynamic during this part of the game for hours. This is incredible and I’m just rambling now so I guess I’ll stop.

This turned out to be exactly what I needed in this troubling time. I can’t put into words how good this is. Admittedly the song drew me in, and not just because I just can’t help but cry to it, but the animation is lovely in its simplicity. Well done.
