I can't believe this has only 3000 views. Thank you DeeDee. It is definitely not always comfortable to be on the hot spot. Thumbs up to everyone for your courage to expose yourself and be taken apart. I learned so much from this. Thank you.
    Much love! Gyandip

The wonderful vocalist Dee Bridgewater as a teatcher, was interesting, the second vocalist gave me goose bumps and definatly "got something", I emedediently heard that the Asian guy on Round Midnight, was extraordinary good ‼️I have been listening to great Jazzvocalist's for many decades, as Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Carmen Mc Ray, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Betty Carter and others ‼️Thanks for sending the video, O. A. ‼️🎯💎JazzyT.

With the second singer I think she was too harsh. I know that Nancy Wilson was her favorite singer.
I think she sounds good. Good coaching. She kept getting better and better.
The song was NOT age appropriate. 20-somethings and teens don't drink Martinis. That song was meant for 30-somethings and up.

That's not necessarily so... DeeDee saw that Emma was experienced and gave her advice anyone at the stage she's in would get. This is just the work artists do!

In my experience the harshest criticism is given to the most talented musicians ...

Disagree. Singers are musicians and need to be coached just the same. There is something about singing that is more personal...your instrument is your body, the sound of your voice is part of your identity. Therefore, singers can be more sensitive to feedback. I think it's important to get over this, and come to see your instrument as an instrument, like any other musician does. This singer gave no indication that she was annoyed or put-off by the feedback -- a fantastic sign for her. So many singers are not able to accept direct feedback because of the peculiarly personal nature of singing, and thus never grow and develop like they could. Also, I'm sure Ms. Bridgewater honed her craft via much harsher lessons, having paid her early dues as a singer in a band.

Those guys are all there to learn something and probably paid money for it. This class is for future professionals in a harsh industry. They are already good singers who want to establish a professional career. It is not about having their ego flattered. I think this girl was really lucky to get so much valuable feedback on that level from an icon like DeeDee!
