These marines are tough.
It's the Museum of Liverpool in the background, the Maritime Museum is a few hundred yards away (kind of to our left as the camera faces). And technically, the water is the Leeds and Liverpool Canal rather than the river, but your knowledge of the area is still very impressive, Connor, considering you live thousands of miles away.

It's sunny, you're in Liverpool for the day.so...what do you do. You take the family to see 4 marines demonstrate various different ways of damaging their crown jewels (and other important places) for the entertainment of assembled Scousers and visitors. Perfect day out! Seriously though amazing skills.
My great uncle was RMC RSM Training at Achnacarry during the war, I’m very proud of him and love to think of the little guy who was hard as nails training commandos how to survive and win.
My son was in the Cdo Demo Team and he always had cracked or broken ribs. No they are not playing at all. The RM's have changed the format and dumbed it down. They work hard and play even harder. Watch an earlier one.
Even with protection that's not going to be fun yes they're goofing around and using some flashy techniques but they are all capable of ruining your day and for a soldier a kick in the spuds is a perfectly valid option.
Those are traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu self defence techniques. Full shoulder, stomach throw, hip throw with cross over arm lock to name a few. I am from Liverpool myself and there are a lot of traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu clubs around here.
Americans think that RMs are equivalent to USMC. They're not. They are the equivalent of US Army Rangers, or SEAL Teams 1-5, and do exchange programmes with both.
I have to say that I much prefer your "American Reacts" videos to the other one that I have been watching for years (you probably know who I'm talking about) you seem very interested and less entitled, so thanks
Royal Marines don’t play I saw a demo when I was a teenager and they had knives. During the demo one cut the other’s neck just below and behind the ear with a slash. They finished the demo and the one who was cut was laughing and telling us “I told you they were real” 😂😂😂
I grew up just down the road from where this is and can remember those Docks as a kid, just barren wasteland. It's amazing what they have done in our City.
Connor, gotta tell you several workmates years ago were ex Royal Marines. Yes tough lads but good friendly mates, including an ex SGT Major boss a party animal and so funny.
Most of these are judo moves - the one where he had him on his foot and took him over the top is called Tomoe nage ( stomach throw ) but is a miss translation as you hook your foot under the groin and lift as dropping back - they don't hurt when thrown as if you look closely you will see them use their arm to distribute the force of the throw into the mat. You will always learn to do this first before learning any throws.
I remember going into the Royal Marines career centre as a 15 year old wanting to join and I remember the sergeant giving me a T-shirt and saying, come back when that fits you 😅and I swear I still have that T-shirt and it still doesn’t fit me 😂 those man are some tough mother fuc…..
@stratoreyener461 I know. And who did they arrest? One 👱♀️ woman who was complaining about it. That's not the people they're talking about when referring to hostile crowds. They mean British people who are voicing their concerns.
The newer demos seem more watered down. this one is my favourite it’s in two parts the video quality isn’t great due to how old it is but it’s very entertaining the second video they get attacked with chainsaws ruclips.net/video/yHFM8J0OLBo/видео.htmlsi=t_R_XTUF6-Dkw3a9 I can only post one link at a time so I’ll reply with the second link
@gmdhargreaves Try the SAS. They take most of their applications to join the SAS from the RM Commandos or the Paras. You could try a fight with an SAS guy but they are Royal Marine Commandos OR 40 TYPE Paras on frigging steroids, so I've been told. Nobody wants a rumble with an SAS guy. Or maybe you could take out a lot of personal health insurance first.
What people have to realise this is some fake techniques like wwe because they want it entertaining for the children as it’s a family event, but most are real
My daughter is a Royal Marines cadet. Lance Corporal. So proud of her. I know it's not the real thing, but kudos for being there.
Good on her, well done for supporting her, I'm sure she could go into the military if you and her want that, good luck In whatever she ends up doing.
Good luck to her.

full figure leg lock,
aka
full body leg lock,
as your whole body engages in the lock.

This demonstrates that half the fight is being able to take damage and deal with it. It takes fitness and mental resilience.

These are some of the weakest ju-jitsu techniques I’ve seen…
