Sometimes we go through so much money trying to find cheap ones. Like buying a 40 dollar pair and then buying 2-3 more cause they stop working. Then you realize you’ve gone through the same amount if you just bought the real ones in the first place

Mark Harrold before i bought the original one i went to buy a second hand from a guy , i spotted it from that sharp click voice otherwise it was the same and when i entered the serial number on apple website it did not have warranty however it had a valid purchase date 😂

I have a set and cannot tell the difference, and they open with connect and they pair right away also have the cardboard insert as the original. Still a great set!

This was a big relief my are real
I ordered some from amazon for 139, some of the reviews were complaining about them coming already used, broken, or they were fake. I didn’t notice this until after ordering but there’s a ton of good reviews saying they’re legit as well & not to go based off the bad reviews. I’m getting them in a few days but for some reason I’m so nervous.

But aside from the advice you gave in this video is there anymore key clues you may have learned since filming this ? Thank you for you time! I just got myself and my daughter a pair for her birthday which was two days ago and I bought them on Saturday so one pair mine was opened immediately hers was opened on her birthday and I am out of all this money and have nothing but fake airpods to show for it. I don’t see how someone could be so low sell me these knowing they was for my child’s birthday. People are so cruel. Please keep sharing this for other parents to see. It’s a very good video. I wished I would have seen it before I spent hundreds of dollars.

One of the best ways to tell is once you’ve paired them with your device, go to the Bluetooth menu under settings. You’ll see them listed. Now click the little blue “i” icon. Are you able to change the name of them and other settings? If so, they should be real. You can also try to check the serial number on the Apple website here. checkcoverage.apple.com

I found an Airpod inside the mall on the floor , someone accidentally drop it and didn't find it again. At first i thought this is a real one but when saw your video how to spot the real and fake this what i found is a fake one because its housing is very shaky but it still works very well . I'm satisfied with sound quality , all sensors works pretty well but durability is not that realiable compare with original . I accidentally drop the right earphone almost 5 feet and the sem opens up , fortunately it still works fine .

i recently bought airpods 1. generation but im not sure if they are real?? theyre not new i bought them on ebay and they look so real but now i dont know..i tried to reset them and i read that the light is supposed to be orange after holding the button for 15 seconds but my light is blue? and after it blinks blue the holes where the airpods charge blink blue too.. then i pulled one of the airpods out and it blinked blue THROUGH the material and theyre fake ones right?? i really thought they were real but now i dont know help me please i cant reset them and i think i got scammed.. :((

Sounds like you may be alright. It’s getting harder and harder to tell with some of these fakes, but this video is kinda old now, so I’m sure they’ve changed.

I have the authentic first generation but there is no CSA logo on the outside of the box. There are two separate stickers, as mentioned in the video. Just FYI that maybe earlier versions did not have this?

Nope. The fake ones can do that because they have the same internals and Bluetooth signature so your iPhone will think they are real. So it’s a chance you still got scammed. However, since they have the same internals and pop up as AirPods are they really fake? Yesnt seems like an accurate answer.

check reviews and go to apple to check if you can get warranty
Just don't order them online unless from a reputable online store that DOESN'T allow Third Party Sellers such as Amazon or Walmart but Online stores such as Apple, Best Buy or go to the store and buy them in person

Hey Aaron. So i just bought some airpods off ebay. $50 not too bad. Just got them and everything checks out, they are exactly like the real pair you’ve shown here, in every aspect. Did a step by step comparison following along with you. The box exactly the same as the real u have two stickers, electric symbol thing, everything. The airpods case thick and sturdy, no rattle, etc. The airpods, no extra seams, etc etc. but.. the only thing i see that doesnt check out, is the pamphlet that comes in the box. It looks more like the fake pairs pamphlet that you got. Also i had to press and hold the button on the back of my charging case to pair them. So those two things seem off. I think ive got a fake pair but i think these fake pairs are getting even better. Considering everything else checks out wonderfully. Thanks for the help, very informative.

Aaron Andino they got cancelled from eBay straight away after I ordered them. Found a pair of brand new AirPods Pro for £30 and they got cancelled straight away. Got a pair for £115 later.

i’m not sure if my AirPods are fake or not
i compared the case to my dad’s case, and mine feels a bit more loose and light, only barely though, and the light isn’t nearly as bright as the one on his is. the back bluetooth button feels poorly placed, while my dad’s felt smooth. i also only get a couple or 3 hours of use before one of them die, and the other soon after. the thing he talked about last with the pairing, mine did what the fakes did at first.
Dose the serial number should be same on box and charging case and headphones, because mine the box and the charging case have same serial number but each headphones have different serial numbers?

Did you buy them new? Real ones will say that only if they were connected to another device before. Check the serial number on the Apple warranty check page.

Another thing I noticed with the fakes... I don’t know if u still have the fake ones but with the AirPods in the case can you flip the case open and put your ear close to them and hear a high pitched frequency noise? I could on the ones I encountered. Thanks. Just curious...
I think I noticed that with mine as well. I believe it’s just cheap electronics, so there is a capacitor or something that squeals.
