Sew Sampler is such a fun box to get every month! I probably won’t make the Verbene as-is. I was thinking of converting it to HSTs instead of the curved pieces. Super pretty fabric!! :-)

I have not tried curved piecing, but I look forward to my box coming. Ma couture had a three yard book with fabric cafe, and all of the quilts are curved. She makes using curves in quilts look easy. I may just give it a try.

I love the fabric but am having a nervous breakdown over curved piecing. I will give it a try because I like to challenge myself. I’m going to watch the video first. Good luck everyone! I absolutely love the sew line pencil. I use one now with black lead and it works excellent.
Layer cake lollies is free for everyone on FQS website. I’ve made a couple of lollies quilts as I like the lattice effect. I cancelled my sew sampler in May as I need to use my stash, it’s getting too large. I’ll consider resubscribing in future as I definitely find more boxes I like than not.
The chalk pencil is cool. Fabric looks like drapery fabric. Not a fan of the subscription box. Waiting to order one but not sure what box I want yet. I've also been looking at the reviews they are up and down. . But thank you Andrea I really enjoy watching your videos.

Andrea you should give the curve piecing a try. I did it on a project and I was also scared to death, but if you pin and go slow you will be so amazed with yourself.

So mine in about three weeks. I have only just got my 3rd designer bom from fqs yesterday. That fabric is stunning. I love the pencil, also comes with green and pink chalk, awesome. The green is great for darker fabrics. Easy to get replacement chalks. Curved piecing is on my hmmmm, maybe if I feel brave (😮😅) list. Hugs, Chel 🌸
I use those little rotary cutter very often! The blade lasts FOREVER! I really like the fabric. Too much blue for me, but I can figure out how to use it, not on the curved piecing, though! Thanks for the lovely unboxing! Mine should arrive tomorrow, but I couldn't resist!
I looked up on fat quarters shop and they do have a lollies shortcut pattern not the same as what you got in the box but similar and it’s a free PDF if anybody’s interested in it it says shortcut series something new I guess
I think you'd like fqs new pattern release for that fabric. It's called layer cake lily. I immediately thought of this pattern when I saw those beautiful fabrics. Kimberly just put out the video yesterday, and the pattern is free, which is totally awesome! Happy quilting!
Hi here is my suggestion now that u have more time, make one individual curved piece from this as a trial. It is all in the pinning, you may surprise yourself, and at least u can say u tried one block of it. Would love to see this in some quilt pattern u have. Stunning prints.
I know Kimberly showed a clamshell video. Don't remember if it was this template or not. She commented she didn't like curves either because she couldn't sew as fast 🤣🤣 But she did the project & it came out really cute. I didn't realize you could cut orange peels with it as well.

The bonus lollies pattern is a freebie pattern that they are recommending as an alternative pattern for the box fabric. It’s a shortcut quilt pattern and there’s a video tutorial on the FQS RUclips channel.
I’m not a fan of weird rulers and templates. Lol. So when you decide how to use that fabric be sure to let us know. I like the fabric but not the pattern so much. I do have one of those white pencils and I love it. I also love a 28mm rotary cutter. So I’m excited to get both of those . And of course, the basket pattern is what I’m really waiting on. I had to reverse and STOP the video to see the curve pieces... took a while. I saw lots of straight lines, but OK the lighter colors inside the squares migjt be curved edges, sheesh! Love the chalk marker
I was sooo looking forward to seeing this box. I suspected it would be Folk and Lore and I selfishly wanted to see you open the fabric! I thought I saw a majority of large-scale print vs. low-scale. What would you say? The pattern looks beautiful but I want to do something simpler. Does the pattern involve applique? Thank you for sharing your box.
I just looked for the completion kit for this box and it $110! They are normally under $30. I get the subscription but for sure won’t be completing this one. I just started the subscription back up because there were so many adorable patterns I was missing. So sad about the price on this one

The sewline pencils are fab, so fine and accurate, ceramic lead refills also comes in pink and green, easily removed, my go-to marking notion🙌

I don’t think there is appliqué. The prints are between small and medium to me.
