Beautiful little sailboat, meticulously precise attention to detail and superb craftsmanship throughout! Thank you for sharing your lovely build, subscribed.
I was looking at the S-400 myself but decided against it as: It is not a stitch and glue design (so it would take a lot longer to build) I also looked at the hartley 16ft, but would have been a longer build and a lot heavier and I would not get any technical help, goto: Bateau.com and have a look at their forum I would have not built my boat with such ease without their help I even got help directly from the designer at no extra cost ( I make no money from sharing this info) I am located in Sydney Australia. My boat is in storage for the winter but in the warmer months you are more than welcomed to have a look at her
yeah i noticed that when i got hold off a set of planns...even tho it states its stitch an glue...but its ackurly a screwed an glue. the hartly16 is a 16 footer isent it? so yeah it would be heavier than the S-400 witch is only 13 foot...my reasoning for the S-400 is its a lot off cabin area for just 13 foot an we have a small old car as well so im mindful of its limits...the wife an i are only pensioners so cant offord much...we can buy most timbers ect at local bunnings store....but ill have to source a mast an rigging else wheres i would love to vist Your little ship at some point
She is a very safe family style boat that is very easy to sail but shes no rocket. She gives great wind and wave protection for a boat her size and can handle a stiff breeze with ease. I sail her in an area where there is often light wind so I moved her mast back 40cm and added a large jib this has made her extremely balanced and she gives me great performance. I can keep up with sailing boats much larger than mine in a light breeze. My friends and I have very enjoyable days on her drinking Italian stye coffee and solving the world problems.

A very nice build. Is there room in it for a potti?
Yes there is, I built the floor lower than plan so that you can sit on it with cabin hatch closed.
Thank you.
