@MANCHESTER UNITED Id rather watch paint dry then watch soccer ties what the hell you need to learn that there are winners and losers in life and 1-0 games. Id also check your numerical stats please.
You gotta think that if Cleveland doesn't blow that 3-1 series lead in the ALCS to the Red Sox, the Rockies & Indians have a hell of a World Series with Colorado probably winning in 7 if I had to guess. (Because that's just what the Indians do. Lol)
Thank you for posting this. I had almost forgotten how special this period of baseball really was. No one ever gives or gave the Rockies any respect. They also at one time had the best defensive infield in the history of the game and that fact doesn't even get a footnote in the annals of the sport.
As a Phillies fan I remember being so elated and then quickly turned to a bad gut feeling when we drew the wild card winner as east champs. To put into context the Phillies haven't made the playoffs in 14 years going into that season. We had to win the final game up Washington and the Mets had to lose to Florida. Mets had glavine going so it was long shot. But when I looked at the stadium scoreboard and saw that glavine gave up a 7 spot in the first inning we went fucking insane. Finally we were playing October ball. But when the Rockies were destroying everyone in September going like 19-1 just to tie the Padres that's freaking insane. I was rooting for San Diego hard because I knew how baseball works and no one was going to beat Colorado in the national league. They were a buzz saw. My elation was short lived when Holliday beat that throw home in the tiebreaker vs San Diego. One kaz Matsui grand slam vs us and then a sweep of 1 seed Arizona later they were in the world series. I really thought we were going to be the Rockies of that season and win the world series but thankfully we won it all next season and it was the start of many great years of Philly baseball ahead including getting revenge vs Colorado in 09. Just goes to show how amazing that 07 Boston team was to sweep a Rockies team that had won like 27 out of their last 28 like that's unreal! Denver is a cool city and a beautiful Coors field. Hope the Rockies can win a championship soon.
I’m a Braves fan and things have been streaky for the team since Chipper Jones has retired but at least there’s been the development of Freddie Freeman and now they’ve been getting guys around him. I still remember that 2007 Rockies squad and I was cheering for them since I hate the Red Sox (Yankees are my second favorite team). The Miracle Mets, 2008 Rays and the 2014 Royals are the only other teams that have had playoff runs I know of as historical as this one, although they didn’t have to go on this crazy stretch like Colorado did
You in your comment here care more about the rockies than the ownership does. Until the team gets sold they got no chance. But ill never forget 07. Closest thing to it was Tebow in 2011. We were just stealing games.
My team! What a year! Tulo was a rookie phenomenon and his outstanding playing made him my favorite Rockies player. I was sad when he got traded to the Blue Jays some years ago. Now my favorite is Arenado, but I still miss Tulo. Helton too.
Was In Iraq for this run. We were able to wear any hat we wanted to on Fridays. My only hat was a Rockies hat. Let's go Rox. Let's bring this home for all the Rockies fans that can't come to the games. Let's do it for our city, our people, and all Rox fans around the world. RIP KSM. 2020. Our year!
This was a phenomenal season for Colorado despite not winning the whole thing. Have faith Rockies fans , your team will win the World Series someday soon from this Chicago White Sox fan bless you guys !
Proud to say I was there and witnessed those home games in 2007!!! Most exciting Games I’ve ever seen! I still get goose bumps when I think about it! GO ROCKIES!!! 💜⚾️💜⚾️💜⚾️💜
This was such an awesome moment and what got me back into baseball, just in time to see some of the great players the Rockies had. Troy, Cargo, Fowler, the list goes on and on.
I was never ever so sick then watching the padres game on my birthday. The last minute. We didnt know what the hell happened from above the out of town scoreboard section. The best birthday i could ever have in my life. 10/01/07. Thank you God for giving me this birthday!
For 21 days the Rockies made one of the greatest playoff runs in the history of Major League Baseball, the likes of which we may never see again. One can only hope a World Series title is in the future for the Rockies.
I think there is hope with the hitters but they need to improve the pitching. Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story are big standouts but they have other good players as well that can hit and field well.
I was at that game.waited out front.hot a ticket somehow.i have never heard a ball park so loud.the stands, seats, the whole building shook like an earthguake.it was incredible.
It’s a shame The Rockies had an 8 day Lay off after the NLCS, the longest in baseball history, after the hottest streak going into The World Series, it completely effected the outcome . Nobody talks about this, but the lay-off was what beat The Rockies, Boston was lucky this gave them them the title
In 06 and in 2012 the Tigers swept both teams they played in thier respective ALCS series causing week long layoffs both times and as a result the Tigers were so rusty in both World Series and got swept in 12 and only one 1 game in 06. I don't care what anyone says but the long layoffs are bad for baseball teams.
Only if they had won the World Series. Just like they would have made a Tim TebowMania-Broncos movie if the Broncos had won the SuperBowl in 2011 (2012 postseason)
1:03:00 "You love Bernsey because he struts and he just has that kind of bouncing walk that if on your team you love it, and if he's on the other team you can't wait to get him" That's a great line. And describes a lot of people and team spot situations and personalities -- I've been on both sides of this and it's exactly right and true. We all love that dude -- the dude who has the kind of swagger that is entirely designed to pump up his own guys and people -- he's a character. It's a great dude. You LOVE beating him on the other team, but you fucking LOVE him on your team.
WOW, its unreal just how similar the voice of Tony Gwynn Jr is to his dad, Tony Gwynn Sr. For a moment, before they showed his picture, I thought it was Tony Gwynn Sr that was talking
The Padres really collapsed those last final 3 games (Games 161 and 162 at the Brewers, Game 163 at the Rockies). What a brutal 3 games, the way they lost each game. OUCH Game 161 at the Brewers, Padres had a one run lead with three outs to go in the bottom of the 9th inning to make the postseason, and then Hoffman blew it in the 9th, and then the Padres lost in extra inning. And the Brewers were probably not caring about playing spoilers and on vacation mode already entering the bottom of the 9th inning. Game 162 at the Brewers, Padres had a 3 run lead after 3 innings against the Brewers, who were probably on vacation mode at this point and not thinking about a comeback, and then the Padres still lost it. Game 163 at the Rockies, Padres had a 2 run lead heading into the bottom of the 13th inning with 3 outs to go to make the postseason, and then Hoffman blows it again, like he did on game 161. If you thought the Mets 2007 collapse was horrendous when they lost 12 of their last 17 games, mainly when they went 1-6 in the final week of the season all home games in Shea Stadium and were 1-9 in their last 10 home games overall to end the season, then the Padres 2007 collapse was just as horrendous and painful in those final 3 games of the season with three heartbreaking losses on the road, and two of those losses were in extra innings walk off fashion in games that they were 3 outs away from making the postseason (161 and 163).
Rockies-Rocktober in 2007 and TebowMania-Broncos in 2011 (January 2012 postseason). Talk about giving amazing cinderella-drama to sports fans in the state of Colorado. And both times, the Colorado team gets eliminated from the postseason very easily against the team from the state of Massachusetts.
Talk about crazy... I just finished watching this video, and I looked at my battery life. It said 64 percent. Not kidding. How strange things work sometimes.
this would be much better with sound. Anyone know where to find another posting of this or where to buy a copy? I had it recorded on my DVR but it auto-deleted
johnnybarracho A fellow Rockies fan made me a copy of the TV show and I still have it the disk of you ask him I'm pretty sure that he will make you a copy. :)
it makes me sad every time i think about it. im a dodger fan but i live in denver and just thinking that if it weren’t for that damn 8-day lay-off we could have had the First and currently only perfect 11-0 postseason if the indians won or boston didn’t push a game 7 to get prepared to Take on colorado. hopefully we can win our first division title and world championship in 2022! and yes i also go for the dodgers
RSOX-Cleveland were great teams in 2007 that almost won 100 games Padres-Phillies-DBacks were vulnerable teams in 2007 that won like 90 games I HIGHLY DOUBT the Rockies, who won like 90 games also, would have swept the RSOX-Cleveland if the ALCS ended in 4-5 games
I remember the Rockies wearing those lucky black jerseys during the entire 2007 post season. Too bad they got swept by the Red Sox. The Colorado Rockies will win the World Series one of these post seasons, once they get new ownership and some good pitching.
Rockies suffered in that they had 8 days off and lost their edge. Padres suffered in that they had to play 21 straight games in 21 days with 0 days off to close 2007.
@@hmhm856 yew, as a result of playing 21 straight games with no rest. I don't know how better to explain that. None of the other playoff teams had to play 21 straight. Look at the 2007 schedule

I would have been angry if Holliday was the third out AND the Padres had a one run lead. But by that point, I was so demoralized after Hoffman allowed the game to get tied earlier in that inning that I just never cared if Holliday touched it or not
The true championship, not to knock the Rox, was the week before with the Yankees. After their win against the Yanks, Boston was PUMPED! I hate Boston.
Yea but that doesn't diminish the story for the NL pennant. If a team doesn't win the world series, that doesn't mean the year was a failure. If you think that then you're amazingly negative and delusional.

21-1. From out of the playoffs, to the World Series. This is still the best pennant run in MLB history.
@MANCHESTER UNITED its only popular because only poor countries can play because baseball and other sports are too expensive sooo
