Chef tip: if you heat up your container first the water will boil faster. A lot of energy is lost trying to heat a room temperature (or colder) container especially when its holding room temperature water (or colder). When the two masses meet and heat only comes from one direction it will increase the time it takes to boil.

As an off shoot of the name Arizona Penny stove, Arizonians selected the cans of ARIZONA TEA (from New York) not for the name but metal was a thicker gauge and more durable.
When my commercial alcohol jet stove lost its seal, I made an alcohol stove out of a tuna can: slits in a star shape in the lid (contents removed through this port), 8 8mm holes around the perimeter just under the lid. This burner unit boiled my beans in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
I was looking for a 'hobo stove' video I saw over a year ago and came across this. At first I thought it was dramatically overbuilt, but I gotta say, I love the craftsmanship of this! It's not as easy to replicate with limited tools, but it sure looks fun to build!
Can you do it? Yes, with a can you can. In Japan you have these beer automatics, so you can buy beer anytime of the day. (the Scandinavians are very fond of this) These beer cans are up to 1 litre. Bet you can make a nice stove of those cans. I never drink Cola anyway.

Not measuring is so BAD! If you don't measure then you don't know what you will get. You may have just wasted your time and 2 cans. If you measure then you get a stove that works like his in the video & other people can build one and also get a stove that works like his in the video.
Nice neat job and it boiled the water faster than my stove. I use to make "buddy burners" in scouts with tuna can, coiled up cardboard, wax with wick inside the tuna can. That would go under a larger gallon size tin can with vents cut in it at the bottom (which is the top with no lid). We'd cook fried eggs right on top of the upside down can. At least we can "cook" some how with no power, right?
If your meal will take a longer time to cook and simmer make a few of these cute stoves and stick a newly loaded cooker when the first one runs out of gas(Alcohol)
why urs is so bloody perfect, ive made a few of ur designs they all perfome really well and works best with 98 methanol but the only thing is I cannot achieve ur flawless process
Just made one of these and tested it. I used two cups of water in a Stanley 1 quart Camp pot (3.6" diameter) with no lid. The grill put the bottom of the pot approximately three quarters of an inch above the top of the burner. I also had to hold the pot well above the flame for approximately one minute in order to allow the flame ports to light and stay lit. - Two tablespoons of 95% ethanol. - Water was at a starting temperature of 65 degrees Fahrenheit. - Air temperature was 75 degrees Fahrenheit and the air was static. - Air pressure 1012.5 millibars. These were the results: 12:15 to full boil. 14:15 flame out. My observation was that much of the flame went out around the sides of this size pot, and so was wasted heat. A wider pot would probably heat more quickly, and a lid would have helped the heating and boil time in this pot. Overall, it seemed fairly safe with no abnormally large flaring.
Bonjour de France. Il me faut 7 , minutes avec la même casserole et la même capacité d'eau , pour juste faire frémir , rt non bouillir. Bravo! et merci beaucoup.😇😉😊😊👍

If you boil water with that way, you will get a lot of chemical toxic.... even if it takes times, just boil the water in normal way.
