Guys I don't have a problem what Carter did after the game, he was just having fun,man after a good day like this here, hell why not talk your trash, after you done back it up,I think people just been to hard on Carter, just look how the Saints players was playing?dirty hit on Smith, and a dirty move that the guy did to Slay
@15:21..."..BG is 36 years old...". In the NFL Championship game in 1960, Chuck Bednarik played 60 minutes. He played center, middle linebacker - and he kicked off. He was 36 years old.
2:46 "i think we can agree, we did not expect that (performance from the defense)" - see, this is what im talking about. How are you really surprised? Its an entirely new defense and it was just the 3rd week. But the 2nd week showed signs of improvement compared to the 1st, and they gave up 9 points for 3 quarters and 15 until the very end. They gave up a lot of yards, but WHO CARES??? It's the points they don't give up. That should be the main, if not, only concern. And their redzone defense has been great. They just had to adjust some things. That's it
@@InsideTheBirds okay. Now they are finally getting coached up right. I'd think that takes time. Plus some of the defensive guys are new, so it's still new to some (rookies, Huff, etc)
@@InsideTheBirds I just think people have been *waaaaay* overboard about the yards given up by the defense against ATL like it was the worst we've ever seen from a football team of all time Lol! I mean, come on. 9 pts for most of 3 qtrs? Keep the main thing the main thing, right? Isn't that what Jalen always says? I don't give a rats, you know what, how many yards they give up. I mean, I do, but it's not the end-all-be-all like ppl make it out to seem. Keep them out the endzone. Limit to fgs if you must. I think they did that for the most part in Atlanta and obviously New Orleans. Definitely much more refreshing than we've seen last szn (30th ranked overall).

42:00 - "Look, Hurts has now played a lot of games, okay?..I think he all know who he is" - I'm noticing this guy always sounds extremely annoyed when people ask him about Hurts. If he doesn't want to constantly be asked about certain players in the NFL (especially QBs), then maybe, just maybe, he shouldn't have decided to be an "NFL Analyst". Claims we know him by now. Well, I WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE THAT, but considering the revolving door of coordinators he's had to deal with, and considering most people feel like he doesn't even have a good coach, I think he's done a phenomenal job at his position. I'd think it's a whole lot easier to play qb when you have a pretty stable coaching staff and have been in the same offense year in and year out for most of, if not, all their career (i.e Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson, etc) 🙄 I remember Andy Reid saying that it doesn't take a QB until about 4 years in an offense to really feel comfortable. So, everything Greg thinks Jalen needs to work on, I would think comes with more stability around his coworkers staying put, not necessarily him having a problem excelling in the area himself or not being a genius. I mean, the only guy he's had for more than 1 year was Shane, and look what happened? Imagine him having a coordinator for at least 3 years! 👀
@@neetrab I mean I’m one of the biggest Hurts defenders but the ball security on that fumble was bad. So they easily could have ripped him for that. But I thought for the most part it was a fair analysis
Come on gentlemen are we to assume that professional experienced coaches can't make those adjustments in game. They really need a complete game to figure it out. That's disappointing
Teams prepare for what they see previously from.tape.and adjust on the fly. But there's only so much you can do in game. Eagles completely changed their defensive front, which made it extremely difficult to adjust to+Saints lost their center early. It will be interesting to see how teams attack the Saints zone scheme now going forward.
Taysom Hill changes how you have to defend the Saints. We dodged a bullet imo, I know a gadget player & not a super star but when he's on the field the defense has to account for him pre-snap.
Awesome analysis of the game, Greg. Always love the education I get when I watch Inside the Birds -all segments!
Incredible show! I learn so much on tape breakdown with Greg! It's a must watch every week!

I think people dont realize the players are new to Fangio’s system. But he’s also new to them and the best ways to deploy them
Which will take time

Welcome aboard!
Go Birds! Jalen Carter is a beast!
Delightful
The offense needs to give the defense something to work with waiting until the 4th quarter to score won't cut it.

It's not an entirely new defense. It's just Fangio running it (they were running his scheme previously) with his subtleties added.

Jeff Mosher just call Jalen Carter JC for short and JD for Jordan Davis it’s easy to remember lol
Slay broke up a TD in the endzone too
A little late to ask, but week 1, the offsetting 12 men on the field call, shouldn’t it have been 12 man in the huddle and called dead?
When watching the tape it made me a little disappointed. Jalen carter cant show me that type of play effort and nastiness then not bring it every week
He wasn't DOUBLED much with a 5-2 or 6-1 front?...😊
I agree

Amazing how defense schemes work when you have a Reggie White or a Jalen Carter.
It certainly helps; change in defensive front+Carter=win.
