@@pj_spirit yeah, a simplification: Link's up-B doesn't push him up when grounded so he still falls. And shield pushing his up-B makes him fall while doing it.

1:37 the windbox of hydro pump is so powerful that it pushed lucas to the Pk thunder. So the the pk hit Lucas on the left side of his body so he was supposed to go back to the stage but the hydro pump windbox was still active that's why he went upwards....i think
The Hydro Jump also halted the momentum from Lucas' up B, because that is how it mainly travels.

it looked like lucas was going downwards, so thats probably how greninjas waterboxes cancelled out lucas’s momentum.

The Mario and Falcon one is very interesting, it’s like a knockback mixing. A similar thing happens when Robin uses thunder almost fully charged and then down airs the opponent with that electric sword while the opponent is in the thunder’s hitstun
Edit: also DI probably has an influence in those cases

When this happened to me the first time my mind was blown. Than again the same goes for kirbys up b, only link falls by sheild knockback.

It's a wii u controller, it wasn't very popular...
They have the layout of an xbox controller but the analog sticks are both on the top. Having used one I can say that they are ok, one upside is that you can set the right analog to do either charged attacks or tilt attacks

Two questions. Was it because of Lylat that he fell off, or was it the shield stun? And does it do the same to toon link?
SuperCrazyfin It was the shield, not Lylat. And Toon Link wouldn’t get pushed by the shield as much because his up-b stays in place for the multi-hits. But if he were to get pushed off by a windbox or something, yes.

And like 7 years ago by me in Brawl. 11 year old me experimented the hell out of it and basically if Link starts his up-b while standing on the ground, if he gets pushed off via windbox or shield-push back, he goes into the aerial up-b animation but keeps falling then goes into free fall. This also works if the platform disappears from under him, like on the drug store platform on Onett
Sheiks back air caused the up b to hit since the game sets it up for a trade/a love winning in those cases.
"Quick Attacks hurtbox is stupid." More like Clouds Smash 4 moveset is stupid. -__-

If they made it so their aren’t many active frames, took away the half damage bs if you wiff, and gave it a bunch of lag then it would become a pretty good last resort, but with how it is now it should be burnt at the stake
