"I'm afraid to tell you who I adore, won't tell you who I'm singing towards" - it breaks my heart during that part of Ode To Sleep because he's balancing the spread of the word of God without saying outright where he's coming from, in order to reach more people, like in Clear, he says "I wish that I had two faces to see what really works: yelling on the street corner or cleverly masking your words". Here he can yell it out and I think that's why I almost cry every time I hear the rap part lol.
Tyler's part always makes me cry cause it just reminds me of what Jesus did for us and I can't contain it 😭

I actually go to church at Five14 and they are so good at their music. Chris Salih (drummer before Josh) actually sings there. Tyler added in to just make it better.

i love how, even though tyler and josh are grammy winning artists, they still care about their faith. they're passionate about it, and they don't hold back in making songs about God, or thanking Him for sending Christ, or guiding the band since it's formation. It is really inspiring to me.

I see you friendly talking about Bible and God , can I share something about me on here? Honestly I'm so confused about religion. I've grown up in a Christian family , went to church and to a Christian school for a few yearss ect... Now that I'm old enough to make this choice : "do I believe in God ?" , I just feel lost , bc since I'm a kid ,it's more like big and intense phases . Sometimes I'm really into religion , sometimes I'm just like "yeah Idrk...". When I got into tøp about 1 year ago , I was so thankful to them for making me have faith again. Then I heard How by The Neighborhood and I absolutely felt in love with it. It made me starting to over questioning myself again and now Idk what to do or what to think anymore. It's a circle that never ends and I'm seriously tired of it .
Estelle Lestowell ray ruth to be a christian is not just say you believe everything in fact many claim they believe in jesus but follow nothing the bible says nor know any of it they well steal, have abortions, get divorced, look down upon others etc. this is true, you are not a christian because you say you are but from the actions that you take and do. life is like a garden or a tree as the bible says and you want to produce good fruit, you can only do that by doing good things. the bible says "many are called few are chosen" what that means is only the people god choses that have beared good fruit well go to heaven. also EVEN if you dont believe jesus or are another religion the bible says if you are in the light of god you well come to god ( or eventually become a christian. )
This and the moderately inspiring tale of the longboard rodeo tango is why I hope Tyler does more things with his church on his "break" from touring ("break" because he's still working on music but it's kind of a break). This music is just way more uplifting.
I've been listening to their album clear on repeat because I still wanna hear Tyler's talent ofc, but this music is just so much more uplifting 🙏🏾

I actually watched an interview from a really long time ago and the drummer from before introduced Josh to Tyler Ready, Aim, Firebreather
They did! Former drummer Chris Salih confirmed this in a TØP podcast
Josh and Tyler met through Chris. But they didn't meet through church. Chris bought Josh to a twenty one pilots concert and introduced Tyler and Josh. They then became friends and when Chris left the band Josh took his place.

I'm going because I watch five 14 church's live streams every Sunday. I love the church. they're all so nice, kind and accepting. I haven't met anyone from five 14 but I already love them. I go to this church and its actually now called five14 church. Both Tyler and Josh used to be a part of our worship team. After TOP got really big though they both started to focus on the band and they dont perform with the band anymore.
Yeah I actually started listening to five14 sermons online after finding this music. Funny how that worked out :)
