Thank you for your amazing video. I am looking for this cane in Florida, and it is impossible to get. My son had a stroke three years ago and he lost his eyesight. So everything is new to us. God bless you.

I made this channel to help. I am glad to hear that it did. :) I got mine through blind-ils DBS connected me to them. Blindness is weird, we have special departments seperated from normal dissability services. How old is your son? have they tried transformers as a form of fidget toy? 3-D puzzle-boxes like Transformers help me. Be well mate and I wish you all the best in finding a Carbon-Fiber Collapsing Blind Cane.

@@Blind_Prime You are very kind. My son is 33 and had three strokes, and then he had cancer, and now we are dealing also with seizures. For the last couples of months he has been stable. May The Good Lord Bless you .

I have been looking for a telescopic cane like that for over a decade. Very tired of using the traditional folding cane. How do you buy the cane from Chris Park Designs? They don't seem to have an online store.

My local ILS-DBS agent hooked me up with it. I found the old type at the ILS website years ago. Crisparkdesigns.com didnt work?
if your in the USA I suggest you talk to your local DBS agent about it. I met Cris park at a confrence a few years back. The dude made a gold cane for Stevey Wonder but he never picked it up. I hope this helps. Didnt double check that link. my bad

Found a good link, but there is something up with the website. It seems to be making my txt reader speed up to chipmunk voice levels. idk if that will happen with you. But below is the link. I will give it a few line breaks from here to it so it is easier to click on.

Did this work for you? If not I could take a crack at finding my a link, my brother actually just got me one of these for my birthday. Works great. I walked through Target this evening with a cane feather light and had no issues! And I didn’t need the two pound steel
Rods to do it! Thanks man!

you got one!? I am so happy for you! :) How are you enjoying it? Personally once I got one I have never gone back except for when I need my offroad cane. Be careful how much force you use when swinging it, if you use to much you could break it on the corner of a wall or something similar. Be well mate and once again I am so happy that you got one of these canes.

i dont think so. You can go to their website or work through ILS to get it. I asked my ILS agent to get me one and she found it. Though she told me it blew most of the 100 dollar budget they have to help me every year. Yup this state I live in, FL, only gives ILS 100$ budget for each blind person in the state. I am really not liking this state anymore and as soon as this youtube channel and my non-profit launches off then I will be moving to a state that doesnt consider me a layabout and a waste of space because I cannot see. This state does not treat any dissability well and constantly puts up barriers to slow down or inhibit anyone from getting any sort of help here. I dont make political statements very often but screw Desantoes for how much more difficult he has made my life during his term as Gov. of FL. I have to have foodstamps in order to eat but because my SSI increased because of inflation our Gov. in his "wisdom" -sarcasm- lowered my foodstamps because I got more money from the goverment. So because inflation increased, his move was to lower foodstamp ammounts. Hell mate, I dont even have dentil insurance and cannot afford a dentist visit. I really hate this state and cannot wait to get the hell out of it. Sorry about the rant mate, it's something I am thinking of making a video about, but I am worried that doing a rant like this could lose me subscribers. what do you think?

Ever think of moving to a 3rd world country because of inflation? I moved to Sri Lanka 3 years ago and loving it here. I live in a beach house for $150 a month. Transportation is very cheap and fresh coconuts are only about 30 cents over here. I met a nice girl, got married and my life has gotten a lot better. If you like a simple village life, try making it out of America before shit hits the fan. First world country like America will not survive if they cut off electric and internet

@buckfidenn ya mate I dont have enough money for a passport let alone a move to another country. I am also blind so finding a job in a country that doesnt have alot of aid for the blind will nearly be impossible. I also only know english so without the ability to see someone pantamine I will be compleatly lost. Moving out of this country is not in the cards for me saddly. If I had perfect vision then hell ya I would jump ship. Maybe once my yt channel can start paying me a little bit then things will change but at the moment I cannot do what you suggest. Besides I do not like the texture of coconut and mango.

@@Blind_Prime I’m blind also, I’ve been blind since 2012 in a car accident. All I need is confidence, my blind stick, my mobility skills, my phone with Blind apps and a google translate, and I can go anywhere in the world. I’m not talking about the texture of mangos and coconuts.I was explaining to you about how cheap the food is over here. You can have breakfast for 2 people for under $1 and that $1 can last 4 days. I was reading u complaning about florida and wanting to move to another state and I saw your other videos of you sitting in a room and playing with your little toys like a 5 years old so I feel soory for you and I’m just giving you a alternative instead of being sheltered.
You complain about not having enough money so I’m just letting you know that there are other options that’s all. Plus you can do your youtube videos anywhere in the world. I got disability from the government and I’m slowly building a house to open a air bnb over here. I can do all that so all I’m saying is, you can do it also.

@buckfidenn well mate that is pretty cool. where did you live before moving there? I dont think you compleatly understand why I am "playing with toys like a 5yearold" I am not. I am working with 3D puzzle boxes that are affordable. what I am showing you on my channel is a form of physicall and mental therapy. I was addicted to video games before I lost my sight and what I do on my channel is to introduce avenues that the blind and newly blind can take to improve there mental fitness. I am sure you fell into a bit of a depression after you lost your sight as I did. I lost mine back in 2017 and it took me over 4 years to climb out of the pit. That is what my channel is doing, helping people climb out of that pit. Yes I intend to move but not intil my 5year plan is through. I just started year 3 so two years and change left before I can make a big change like moving. I also am not alone over here. If I move I would try to move family and friends aswell. I am not keen on moving somewhre without friends and family. I appreciate your advice and one day my path might lead me to a nice beachhouse. :) if you havent done it yet, try to get ahold of a transformer and let me know how you felt about it being blind.

It was pretty easy to guess. lol Yes I was a few years back but since it is on Hulu and Hulu doesnt have audio discription for any of it's menues I have just written off the series. Since I can no longer watch it voluntarily anymore. Blind people problems. The messed up thing is that the American Council of the Blind sued Hulu to fix this and they said they did, but they didnt do anything that I can hear. It sucks how many people just overlook the blind.

telescoping canes are the worst.. very fragile, always compress, and are just horrible... now a days you can get a folding cane that folds up nicely and you can put it in your pocket. you mentioned Daredevil.. he uses a standered folding aluminum cane lol.. as far as which is the best cane, the rigid non folding cane, no elastic nothing beats the feedback and obstacle detection those canes offer..

    • @Blind_Prime
      @Blind_Prime  9 месяцев назад

Matt Murdock uses a folding cane but when he is Daredevil he uses a collapsing cane with a spring inside. He can press a button on the side and the cane will extend to it's full length. Carbon fiber canes are fragile but they have the benifit of being small and can shorten their length while in use. Great for standing in lines and not having a handle next to your face. But it all depends on the user some like folding and some like collapsing. I have found and use a steel collapsing cane that is a hardy hiking pole that was turned into a blind cane. It collapses into a pole about a foot and a half long and has a twist lock system for every joint. So I can pull it out to the length I want then twist the locks and they wont give, even when I put all my weight on it and it doesnt collapse. It is really cool and I use it when I go to national parks or to conventions or other very active places with varying ground cover. The Chris Parks cane I call my "city-cane" because it works best in a city situation. Like I have a type of shue for the type of thing I want to do I also have diffrent canes for diffrent jobs. Be well mate and thanks for your comment. Hope your new year is going well!
